      <title><![CDATA[Students in the linguistic segregation plan score 20 points less in Catalan than in Spanish]]></title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><img src="https://static1.ara.cat/clip/4030b28a-cc0c-42d5-8405-7a6f0ce30264_16-9-aspect-ratio_default_0.jpg" /></p><p>Students from schools adhering to the pilot plan for free choice of language obtain significantly lower results in Catalan compared to Spanish. This is reflected in the data from a report that the Ministry of Education has delivered to STEI, which had requested it in the context of the lawsuit against the plan. According to this data, the average score out of 100 in the fourth-grade Primary tests places Catalan at 38 points, compared to 58 points for Spanish, 20 points less. This is the initial evaluation carried out in October 2024 in the participating schools, as established by the resolution regulating the plan. Specifically, the results correspond to the 11 schools that <a href="https://en.arabalears.cat/education/the-linguistic-segregation-plan-now-affects-5-800-students-and-has-tripled-the-budget_1_5586789.html" target="_blank">joined in the 2024-2025 academic year, while this year there are already 20 affiliated schools.</a>STEI considers that these figures demonstrate the limitations of the model promoted by the Government. The union recalls that the plan itself sets the objective for schools to "adopt measures to compensate for possible deficiencies in either of the two official languages".</p>]]></description>

This is how <a href="https://en.arabalears.cat/education/the-education-department-acknowledges-the-error-in-the-temporary-staff-assignments-but-maintains-that-all-claims-were-reviewed_1_5544375.html" >urgent procedures for substitutions with interim teachers</a> in the Balearic Islands, a system in which merits are no longer a priority: you have to be the first to click on the position as soon as it is posted. The dynamic highlights the tension in the system after that in the last procedure, opened from April 14 to 16, 114 positions were offered that could not be filled by interim teachers who met all the requirements, such as the teaching master's degree and the Catalan language level. This academic year, 644 interim teachers are teaching <a href="https://en.arabalears.cat/education/antoni-vera-s-four-attacks-the-catalan-school_1_5688918.html">without having accredited the required Catalan language level</a> according to data from the Ministry of Education, which does not specify the stages or levels affected. This figure triples that of 2022.</p>]]></description>

One day, in the dining room, I vomited. And instead of taking care of me, they forced me to eat it. I still remember it with a very vivid feeling of disgust. It was strawberry jam and they made us eat it by the spoonful. I have never tasted it again. It was a period in which the school really indoctrinated, so much so that they now tell us teachers that we do it.</p>]]></description>

The system, which will progressively replace <a href="https://www.arabalears.cat/educacio/educacio-avisa-d-atac-cibernetic-gest-ib_1_5100566.html" >Gest</a>IB, has been awarded for 5.4 million euros to the multinational Ayesa and has a clear origin: it is the same software used by the Junta de Andalucía, from whom it has been 'copied'. In fact, the implementation itself has evidenced this dependence on the base model, to the point of bizarre situations: "One day I was in Llull, I clicked on validate and sign invoice and a tab from the Junta de Andalucía opened up for me," explains the director of a center in western Mallorca.</p>]]></description>

The incident has prevented the normal development of healthcare activities. "We cannot visit patients," assure the center's healthcare workers.</p>]]></description>
