A religious space, first, and later secularized to become civil, it has witnessed the urban and social transformation of the city since the 17th century. Now, and after 25 years have passed since the last renovation, it will undergo a comprehensive rehabilitation to correct the deficiencies that the passage of time and human intervention have accentuated.

A fire in an electrical panel connected to the rooftop solar panel installation forced the evacuation of the school and the mobilization of emergency services. Students who were in the cafeteria at the time alerted authorities to the black smoke billowing from the roof. At least, nothing had been noticed from the classrooms or the courtyard, neither by smell nor temperature. The fire was strictly technical in origin and did not affect other areas or pose any structural risk to the building. The incident was quickly and effectively contained by the Mallorca Fire Department, who disconnected the photovoltaic system to ensure the school's safety. All students were evacuated to the courtyard, unable to retrieve their belongings, and classes were suspended. The evacuation was carried out according to the self-protection protocol and the fire safety protocol, which was last tested just a month ago. Students, teachers, and non-teaching staff followed the instructions responsibly and cooperatively. No injuries were reported, and the entire school community is safe. The school administration has sent a message of gratitude to the students, teachers, and non-teaching staff for their calm and cooperation, as well as to the emergency services for their swift and professional response.

The Manacor City Council has already decided what name it will give to the space, which in the late 1960s ceased to be the municipal cemetery (which was definitively moved to the current Son Coletes location) to become a recreational area for everyone, where outdoor swimming pools and a multi-purpose building were later built in 1985. From now on, it will be called the Rector's Garden. This decision was made by the City Council, which consulted several experts in toponymy to try to find the original name of the space according to existing documentation. This will also be the name that will appear on the sign at the new entrance that will be built to replace the one that was recently demolished. A self-weathering steel sheet will be used, into which the letters will be cut to ensure they are clearly visible from the outside and will be illuminated at night.

The tradition was seen as a ritual deeply rooted in the peasantry but, at the same time, distant from the youth, who didn't find the connection they have now, 40 years later. The group of devils visited every school, every playground in the town, in search of new members for a shared future, in order to ensure a generational handover that was proving difficult.

The Sant Antoni festival in Manacor, which has evolved and become increasingly crowded over the last 20 years, struggles to find a balance that allows it to continue its traditions without losing too much of its essence along the way.

The main week of the Sant Antoni festivities has returned to Manacor. A year later, the hermit returns with a vengeance, and the rehearsal of the Goigs (traditional songs) demonstrates his current form. Some 2,000 people filled the Plaça de la Concordia (in the old Fartáritx neighborhood) this Friday to perform and sing a vibrant sense of belonging in times of mass globalization.

According to sources from the group, the apartment they lived in had been reported by a neighbor who argued that it was a commercial space, not a residence. The contract they signed was for one year, renewable for up to five, "despite the fact that the law states it must be seven years when the landlord is a legal entity," the platform points out. After five years, the landlord reclaimed the apartment and, from then on, "didn't fix anything, neither the dampness nor other problems." Furthermore, the contract had been signed by the tenant's ex-partner, who has a restraining order against him and her two children. The group also denounces that the property owner "owns more than ten properties," a fact he allegedly "hidden" in the certificate attached to the lawsuit. They also suspect the possible "falsification" of a registry document. The woman didn't understand the dates of the eviction and the trial. "She was planning to attend the trial without a lawyer, unaware that she would be evicted before the trial for not having requested a public defender within the first three days after receiving the lawsuit," says the platform, which adds that the Social Services Department of the Manacor City Council "made an attempt in court" to stop the eviction with the family support case, but "the court ignored them." Helplessness
