Water reserves have never been so low in Menorca, only at 34% of capacity, and the pre-alert situation is beginning to alarm everyone. Prices rose in the Balearic Islands in June by 3.4% compared to the same month last year, above the Spanish average of 3.2%, according to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE). The products that rose the most last June were restaurants and accommodation (7.6%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.9%), and housing (3.5%).

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issued a special note this Thursday afternoon warning that in the coming days, especially from Sunday, a very dry and warm mass will cause very high temperatures, with "a significant level of danger" and a possible heatwave until Tuesday in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. "In the coming days, a ridge is expected over our territory and a trough that will be located to the west of the Iberian Peninsula. This configuration, combined with high insolation, high stability, and light winds, will favor the generation and spread across a large part of the territory of a very dry and warm mass," the agency indicated.

The water reserves of the Balearic Islands have stood at 50% during the month of April, which represents a decrease of four points compared to March, when they were at 54%.
