The National Police has arrested a drug dealer in Maó for the death of a woman to whom he sold drugs. As reported by the force, the events occurred on April 9, when several patrols responded to a call from 091, indicating that a dead woman had been found in a dwelling in the municipality and that she might have suffered an adverse reaction to a narcotic substance.

A man caught selling drugs in Son Banya accepted a three-year prison sentence on Wednesday, which will be replaced by a ten-year ban from Spain. The parties reached a plea agreement on Wednesday at the Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands, and the defendant admitted to the charges and agreed to pay a fine of €18,000. The prosecution had initially sought a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence and a €30,000 fine for the man, who was residing illegally in Spain. The events took place on September 8, 2024, in the Son Banya shantytown in Palma. The now-convicted man was caught carrying a box containing cannabis and cocaine, among other narcotics. More than €400 in banknotes and papers containing notes about drug sales were also seized.

National Police officers have arrested a man inside a shack in the Son Banya settlement in Palma, as the suspected perpetrator of drug trafficking and violating a restraining order prohibiting him from entering the settlement. The operation took place last Saturday during a crime prevention effort carried out by patrols from the Citizen Assistance Group, who detected the recent construction of several illegal shacks in the area, according to the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters. In response, uniformed and plainclothes officers deployed a team to identify individuals who might be using these structures for drug sales. During the surveillance, the officers observed movement of people inside some of the shacks. When the officers entered the settlement, they heard someone shout "Water!" alerting them to the police presence, at which point two men and a woman fled on foot. Inside the small house they had left, the police found a man next to a plank used as a table on which were various quantities of cocaine, hashish, and marijuana, as well as medication, coins and low-value bills, a small scale, and several papers with notes. The officers seized the narcotics and the materials related to the alleged drug trafficking activity. Upon identifying the man, they discovered he had a court order prohibiting him from entering the Son Banya settlement, so he was also arrested for violating a restraining order. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the court.

Juan Vega Amaya, the alleged drug trafficker known as 'El Vito', considered one of the leaders of the Son Banya settlement, has paid bail of 15,000 euros and has been released after spending almost two months in pretrial detention following an operation stemming from Manso-Enroque Bal and Chanquete. The young man, arrested last October, has two open court cases, as confirmed to Europa Press by legal sources. In Manso-Enroque Bal, more than 70 people have been arrested for their connection to a drug trafficking and money laundering network. In Chanquete, the National Police arrested 17 people linked to drug trafficking in Son Banya. After his arrest, 'El Vito' was remanded in custody by order of a Palma investigating court on October 18. The alleged drug trafficker, represented by lawyers Belén Porcel and Catalina Pou, has been in prison ever since, until he paid the bail set by the judge.

Furthermore, three of these dwellings turned out to be drug-dealing locations.

The National Police and Civil Guard have arrested 17 people allegedly linked to a money laundering and drug trafficking ring operating out of Mallorca. This is the third phase of the operation, which began on August 11 and in which the alleged leader of the gang and leader of the United Tribuns, Stefan Milojevic, and National Police Inspector Faustino Nogales were arrested, according to sources close to the search.

The National Police, following a report of a couple's argument, have dismantled an indoor marijuana plantation in a home in Ciutadella and arrested a man and a woman as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. During the operation, €8,877 in bills, 46 marijuana plants, and 284 grams of marijuana buds prepared for sale were seized, according to Europa Press.

A Binissalem resident has reported the unsafe conditions they have experienced in recent weeks on Bonaire Street, allegedly related to a drug trafficking case. The latest incident was the appearance, outside a neighbor's door, of a dead rabbit with a threatening sign that read: "Bitch Sonia, pay for the drugs." The same sign also featured, in small print, the word "kill."

A man died this Saturday in Santa Eulalia (Ibiza) after entering his neighbor's home and threatening him with a knife. The Civil Guard explained this in a statement, detailing that the man was under the influence of drugs and that his death is being investigated.

The National Police are currently conducting an operation against drug trafficking in the town of Son Banya.
