Residents of three apartments in a building located at number 51 Gaspar Bennàssar Street in Palma have been evacuated after infrastructure deficiencies were detected. According to the Palma City Council, firefighters and technicians from the Urban Planning Department identified problems in part of the building, specifically in Block A, which has been evacuated. The residents of one of these three apartments have been temporarily housed by municipal social services. The City Council stated that the affected families will be able to return to their homes once the homeowners' association has resolved the issues.

Firefighters in Palma responded Tuesday to a fire in an apartment on the seventh floor of a building on Alexandre Roselló Avenue. One person suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation. An advanced life support ambulance, a shift supervisor, and a logistics vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Following the fire's extinguishment, firefighters and the building protection service will conduct an inspection of the property on Wednesday to assess any necessary safety measures. According to the City Council, a small fire broke out in the same residence earlier, around 3:00 p.m., but it was already extinguished by the time firefighters arrived. However, a thermal imaging camera was used to verify that the fire was completely out.

A traffic accident in Coll d'en Rabassa, Palma, has left one vehicle overturned and several people trapped. The accident occurred at 3:00 PM this Monday at the intersection of Cardenal Rossell and Can Fonoll streets, according to police sources. Two vehicles collided, under circumstances still being investigated by the Palma Local Police, one of which overturned. Palma firefighters rescued two people who were trapped inside the car. According to SAMU 061, the occupants of the vehicles were treated and taken to the Rotger Clinic with minor injuries. A third person was treated by emergency services but did not require hospitalization.

The Governing Board approved the agreement between the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands (CAIB) and Palma City Council, which establishes the early termination of the contract for the construction, maintenance, and operation of the Magdalena Rigo Central Fire Station. Therefore, these facilities will be transferred to municipal management, putting an end to "more than a decade of accumulated non-compliance and deficiencies," according to Palma City Council spokesperson and Councilor for Finance, Civil Service, and Government, Mercedes Celeste.
