The Medical Strike Committee announced this Friday an indefinite nationwide strike starting on October 28th to protest against the Statute Framework bill and demand specific regulations for doctors and medical professionals. The mobilization has been agreed upon by the main medical trade union organizations and has the support of the Medical and Professional Union (UMYF). The call comes ten days after the Council of Ministers approved the bill that is intended to replace the regulations in force since 2003, which is now continuing its parliamentary processing in the Congress of Deputies.

Calvià's lifeguards protested this Sunday with banners on different beaches in the municipality after they were unable to go on strike as they had called for, due to the 100% minimum services imposed by the City Council.

The Calvià Lifeguard Union has called a strike for this Sunday, August 23, to protest the City Council's "disregard" for their demands to improve the service and working conditions. This pressure measure, which the union has considered "drastic," comes after "receiving nothing but mistreatment" when they tried to negotiate an improvement in the conditions of the municipality's lifeguard service.

UGT public services continues with the strike call at the Son Reus kennel, scheduled for next Monday, in protest against precarious working conditions at the Palma animal care center, as no agreement was reached at the meeting before the Arbitration Court, Tamib. The union has regretted that the mediation carried out this Thursday at the arbitration court – as a prior step in any strike call – has concluded without an agreement.

The Calvià Town Hall has regretted the "irresponsible" attitude of the lifeguards' union, which has announced a strike for Sunday, coinciding with one of the weekends with the highest expected attendance at the municipality's beaches. According to their criticism, this union "does not hold any legal representation power over the rest of the lifeguards" and, furthermore, has recalled that the Council already held a meeting weeks ago with some of the lifeguards who provide their services this summer at various beaches in the municipality.

Eight out of ten teachers in the Balearic Islands who participated in a consultation promoted by the Independent, Autonomous and United Union (SIAU) are in favour of calling an indefinite strike in the education sector. According to the results of the survey made public this Monday by the union, 80.8% of participants support this option, while 11.7% oppose it and 7.5% state they do not have a defined position.

The union representatives of the IB-Salut ambulances have registered a strike call in the four islands to demand labor improvements and the fulfillment of pending agreements. The Unión Socorristas Mallorca union reported this Thursday the lack of equipment and deficiencies in the infrastructure of Palma's rescue service, which they attribute to the "neglect and excuses" of the City Council. The Teachers' Assembly has agreed to allocate 100,000 euros from its resistance fund to support the educational strikes in the Valencian Country and Catalonia. The fourth week of this year's medical strike, which on Tuesday reaches its second day, has maintained a compliance of around 80% in hospital outpatient clinics and 50% in primary care in the Balearic Islands. According to data provided by the medical union Simebal, participation rises to 90% in services such as anesthesiology, radiology, and a large part of surgical activity, while among resident internal physicians (MIR) it remains around 65%.

The IbSalut has set the minimum services for the fourth week of medical strike called against the reform of the framework statute promoted by the Ministry of Health. The stoppages, maintained by the Balearic Medical Union (Simebal-CESM), will take place between May 18 and 22.

The educators of nurseries for 0 to 3 year olds are called to a state-wide strike this Thursday, with the forecast of broad participation in the Balearic Islands, as indicated by the organizing unions. CCOO, UGT, and STEI have urged the entire sector to join the protest and have denounced what they consider to be "inactivity" on the part of employers' associations.

The strike in the 0-3 early childhood education sector, called for next May 7 in the Balearic Islands, anticipates significant participation, in a context of growing discontent among workers. Palma Airport registered at least thirty flight delays this Friday, coinciding with a new day of strike by Groundforce company's ground staff, responsible for ramp assistance services. According to Aena data, sixteen departures and fourteen arrivals at Son Sant Joan were affected.
