The doctor in Political Science from the University of Valencia and author of La extrema dreta a Europa (Tirant), Anna Isabel López Ortega, considers the agreement between the PP and Vox in Extremadura "a warning for navigators with neon lights": "It marks a turning point for future agreements". Especially, due to its harshness in the anti-immigration discourse, because the text of the agreement proposes, for the first time, a clause of "national priority" to access public aid or subsidized housing in general. In fact, the two parties have already replicated the formula in Aragon, and are beginning to bring national priority to debate in other institutions, such as Congress or the Balearic Parliament.

Vox continues to squeeze the pact with the PP in Extremadura. After registering a motion in Congress to establish a "national priority" when receiving aid and subsidies, it is beginning to do the same in other territories. The spokesperson for Vox in the Balearic Parliament, Manuela Cañadas, announced this Wednesday that she has registered a non-binding proposal along the same lines. With this move, the far-right once again pulls the PP into its territory, forcing it to pronounce on an issue that makes it uncomfortable, as various popular leaders have already expressed, such as the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The conflict between the PP and Vox has once again become evident in the Balearic Parliament. The far-right party has voted against all the amendments presented by the PP, some 80, to the strategic projects law, known as the òmnibus law, during the deliberation of the Committee on Finance and Budgets this Tuesday. The move leaves a package of key measures for the legislature in suspense and is seen as a clear warning from Vox to Marga Prohens' Government.The decision means that several prominent proposals will be blocked or will have to be debated again. Among these amendments are tax reductions to expand the thresholds for the Property Transfer Tax (ITP) bonus, to reduce the tax on Documented Legal Acts (AJD), as well as a 50% reduction in both ITP and AJD for the purchase of limited-price housing.

The implosion of Vox has reached its peak in Madrid. But in the Balearic Islands, the "series" (as Santiago Abascal defined it) has already finished its seasons. Vox in Menorca is a desert: the party has lost all institutional representation on the island. For six months, the remaining cadres have been trying to rebuild, but they lack people. "We find it hard to find people who want to identify with Vox," admits the party coordinator, Pedro Marqués: "In Menorca, being from Podem is not a problem, but saying you are from Vox still commands respect." All this while the parliamentary group, which has lost three deputies, is diluted under the national leadership of the party. Only in Ibiza has Vox been saved from the fratricidal war. But the PP is so strong in this territory that the far-right is cornered there, as it is in Galicia.

That the plenary sessions of the Manacor City Council are something else is a fact demonstrable with the videos that the council itself uploads each month to its Youtube channel. It is clear that like any good ‘show’, the plenary session has politically boring and administrative procedural moments; but it has others, especially when it comes to the turn of requests and questions, where the emotion skyrockets (and often goes crazy).

The PSIB strongly opposed the creation of a private university affiliated with CEU San Pablo in Mallorca. However, it accepts the creation of the Private University of Mallorca (UMAC) promoted by the private higher education center ADEMA. The project received the endorsement of the Parliament this Tuesday with the favorable votes of the PP and Vox and the abstention of the PSIB, while MÉS per Mallorca, Més per Menorca and Unides Podem voted against it. "This law is not our project, it has shortcomings and risks and we will be vigilant," defended the socialist deputy Mercedes Garrido.

The two parties have recovered, asserting their majority in the Parliament's Board, the hundred amendments (88 from the PP and 12 from Vox) that the Economy Commission's board rejected, considering that they had nothing to do with the object of the Law.

Vox has distributed bracelets with the wrong color combination of the Spanish flag. The material was handed out during a party event in Ibiza and the error did not go unnoticed.

The Government met last Wednesday with the spokespeople of the parliamentary groups to hear their proposals before presenting its anti-crisis decree-law. It is a series of economic measures to address the increase in prices caused by the war in Iran. But just two days later, President Marga Prohens announced the Executive's proposal. She did so, as MÉS per Mallorca and Vox have denounced, without even sending them a draft of the decree-law beforehand. Nevertheless, the PP expects it to be approved with "unanimous" or "the broadest possible" consensus.

A race against time for the PP to push through the maximum possible legislative changes before the elections. Their main obstacle is the slowness of bill processing in Parliament. To overcome it, they have devised some solutions: an abuse of the decree-law figure, which the Constitutional Court criticized last Friday in a ruling, and the stuffing of legislative initiatives with amendments that have nothing to do with them. But with the processing of the law to accelerate strategic projects, the popular party has gone too far: they have submitted 88 amendments affecting up to 70 different norms, most of them unrelated to strategic projects. Furthermore, they have introduced some of the agreements with Vox against Catalan and immigration.
