The tsunami of the Cerdán case has put the PSOE on the ropes to the point that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has been forced to make leadership changes. In this context, the Speaker of Congress and absolute leader of the PSIB, Francina Armengol, has also been affected. Although sources within her team emphasize that there is nothing firm against her and denounce a smear campaign by the PP, socialist voices admit that the situation has affected and "will affect" the PSIB, a federation absolutely dependent on Armengol. The government of Marga Prohens has not hesitated to dig into the wound and, in the latest control sessions in Parliament, has used the case to defuse the PSIB's parliamentary opposition.

The Balearic Islands Public Radio and Television (IB3) denounced the PSOE's veto of its correspondent in Madrid for covering the party's federal committee and warned that it will not accept "political interference." In a statement, the public broadcaster stated that "despite having processed the accreditation within the deadline and in a timely manner, the political party has denied access and the right to report to the IB3 team."

Pedro Sánchez's new boss at Ferraz will speak Catalan. Valencian Socialist Rebeca Torró, Jordi Hereu's deputy in the Ministry of Industry and Tourism as Secretary of State for Industry, will be the new PSOE organization secretary, replacing the already dismissed Santos Cerdán. The rise in Madrid is likely, given that she is the second-in-command of the parliamentary group in Congress.
