A batch of a high-dose vitamin D supplement has led to more than a dozen admissions in the Balearic Islands for hypercalcemia with kidney failure. The Public Health Food Safety Service has activated an alert for the presence of excess vitamin D due to a suspected formulation error in the product Advanced Vitamin x 90 capsules, batch 251268, branded by Erix Elit Sport Nutrition, marketed as a dietary supplement and initially distributed in the Balearic Islands.
