The Civil Guard has found a body in an advanced state of decomposition on the coast of Formentera.

Two people died this Thursday early in the morning in a fire that broke out at 5.23 am in a residential building in Magaluf, in the Mallorcan municipality of Calvià, where several people were also injured. The Civil Guard reported that the deceased are a 58-year-old man of Argentine nationality and a woman who has not yet been identified. They also added that they did not live together, but were in different homes at the time of the fire.

The Civil Guard is investigating the discovery of the body of an elderly man in a wooded area of Sant Joan de Labritja (Ibiza). The Local Police of the town also intervened this Thursday in the incident, as reported by the Sant Joan City Council in a statement. The agents were alerted at 5:02 p.m. to the discovery of a person lying on the ground, in an area near the port.

A fire that broke out Thursday afternoon in an illegal settlement in Palma gutted one of the shacks, causing no injuries. The incident was quickly and effectively contained by the Mallorca Fire Department, who disconnected the photovoltaic system to ensure the school's safety. All students were evacuated to the courtyard, unable to retrieve their belongings, and classes were suspended. The evacuation was carried out according to the self-protection protocol and the fire safety protocol, which was last tested just a month ago. Students, teachers, and non-teaching staff followed the instructions responsibly and cooperatively. No injuries were reported, and the entire school community is safe.
