"Stop making a fool of yourself and deceiving. You, ideology and zero management": this is the accusation that the Minister of the Presidency, Antònia Maria Estarellas, launched at the PSIB deputy Omar Lamin during Tuesday's Parliament session. What kind of accusation is it to tell a politician they have ideology, when it is precisely the ideology of public representatives that determines a good part of citizens' lives? At this point, it is worth remembering what Slavoj Žižek says, who considers that the most dangerous ideology is precisely the one we pretend not to have. It is not an theoretical extravagance. Jürgen Habermas also warned that technical rationality —what we would call 'management' today— can impose values while presenting itself as neutral. And Thomas Piketty has been reminding us for years that behind many technical decisions lie very specific ideological choices about inequality. From this, an uncomfortable conclusion emerges: 'management' is often not the alternative to ideology, but its best disguise.

The PSIB strongly opposed the creation of a private university affiliated with CEU San Pablo in Mallorca. However, it accepts the creation of the Private University of Mallorca (UMAC) promoted by the private higher education center ADEMA. The project received the endorsement of the Parliament this Tuesday with the favorable votes of the PP and Vox and the abstention of the PSIB, while MÉS per Mallorca, Més per Menorca and Unides Podem voted against it. "This law is not our project, it has shortcomings and risks and we will be vigilant," defended the socialist deputy Mercedes Garrido.

The plenary session of the Parliament will give the green light to the creation of a private university that will bear the name of Mallorca with the favorable vote of the PP and Vox, the abstention of the PSIB, and the vote against MÉS per Mallorca. This is the Universitat de Mallorca (UMAC), promoted by the private higher education center ADEMA, chaired by Diego González, former general secretary of the PSIB in Palma and former director general during the mandate of Francesc Antich. Neither the lawyers' criticisms, nor the PSIB's opposition, nor the threat from MÉS to go to the Constitutional Court have stopped the PP and Vox in their attempt to modify 70 norms at once through the Law on strategic projects. President Marga Prohens has multiplied spending on institutional travel in relation to the last term of Francina Armengol. According to this data, the head of the Executive has made 25 trips this legislature, of which 14 have been outside the Islands, with an accumulated expense of 151,841.55 euros. The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, has announced the Plan Mallorca protects, endowed with 84 million euros, to face the economic and social impact of the war conflict in the Middle East, because "the island institution acts with responsibility, diligence and speed to protect the families, businesses and productive sector of Mallorca".

The Government's anti-crisis decree will be validated, presumably, in Parliament. The Government is taking advantage of the parliamentary process for the decree-law promoting strategic projects to broaden the use of the "responsible declaration," a mechanism that allows citizens and businesses to ensure their compliance with the law without having to wait for the required permit. The draft law on accelerating strategic projects has become riddled with loopholes during its parliamentary process. Political parties have introduced, through amendments, legislative modifications that have nothing to do with the purpose of the law. Starting with the PP and Vox, who have taken the opportunity to include the limitation of access to guaranteed social income and the creation of the Anti-Employment Office which they agreed upon almost a year ago. In light of this, the left has also presented amendments on other issues, including various measures to address the price increases associated with the war in Iran.

The party leader in Mallorca, Amanda Fernández, is also gaining ground, although the initial plan is to primarily develop her as a candidate for the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council). The final decision will rest with Armengol, who remains all-powerful in the Balearic Islands, and ultimately with the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, who will oversee the process. "It's too early to rule out Armengol running," a Socialist source asserts. "Everything will be decided in the primaries," the parliamentary group emphasizes. But, although the final decision on candidates rests with the membership, the establishment's support is decisive in any internal process.

The PP and Vox deputies had to face the people most affected by their political actions after using their majority to block the Spanish government's extraordinary regularization of immigration status. Around one hundred migrants (some of whom were undocumented) attended the parliamentary session, invited by the PSIB, where they heard the right wing speak of a "pull factor" and the far right, through their spokesperson Manuel, accuse them of an "invasion" of the Balearic Islands and "an increase in child rapes."

The First Vice President, Government Spokesperson, and Minister of Finance, Antoni Costa, accused the Spanish government on Tuesday of categorically refusing to accept joint airport management to regulate tourist flows. The PP and Vox parties have criticized the MÉS per Mallorca bill to prohibit non-residents and companies from buying homes.
