You, ideology and zero management": this is the accusation that the Minister of the Presidency, Antònia Maria Estarellas, launched at the PSIB deputy Omar Lamin during Tuesday's Parliament session. What kind of accusation is it to tell a politician they have ideology, when it is precisely the ideology of public representatives that determines a good part of citizens' lives? At this point, it is worth remembering what Slavoj Žižek says, who considers that the most dangerous ideology is precisely the one we pretend not to have. It is not an theoretical extravagance. Jürgen Habermas also warned that technical rationality —what we would call 'management' today— can impose values while presenting itself as neutral. And Thomas Piketty has been reminding us for years that behind many technical decisions lie very specific ideological choices about inequality. From this, an uncomfortable conclusion emerges: 'management' is often not the alternative to ideology, but its best disguise.

The Popular Party government on the Island Council insists on pushing the project through despite warnings from UNESCO. Councilors Noemí García and Esteve Barceló from Más por Menorca have submitted a request for a legal report on the legality of the two-level roundabout project that threatens the prehistoric navetas (pyramids) of Rafal Rubí. The request is justified by the detection of "regulatory non-compliance" regarding the heritage and landscape impact assessment, which also fails to meet the commitments stemming from the declaration of Talayotic Menorca as a World Heritage Site. The construction company has already signed the contract

The initiative by Més per Menorca comes just as the winning consortium, formed by Copcisa, Juan Mora, and M. Polo, is about to begin construction between kilometer markers 5.7 and 7.7 of the main road between Alaior and Maó. In fact, the contract, formalized on January 23, commits them to carry out the project over eleven months with a budget of €6,576,525.64. However, Más doubts that the heritage impact assessment included in the file meets the standards required by regulations and the technical criteria established by UNESCO and ICOMOS for properties declared World Heritage Sites. He also notes the absence of the mandatory and binding report on landscape impact and integration, which would violate the provisions of the Menorca Island Territorial Plan (PTI).

The eco-sovereignty movement will defend a bill this Tuesday in plenary session to demand that airport authority be transferred to the government. This is a way to limit Aena, the commercial company that manages them, after receiving 15.9 million visitors to 18.7 million between 2014 and 2024, according to data from the INE (National Institute of Statistics and Census). The law has the approval of the PP, at least to allow its processing, while the PSIB (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) is hesitant.

The most forceful, however, was the Més MP for Menorca, Josep Castells, who asserted that the president has "proven that she is a liar" and has decided to abandon her in the round of consultations with the parties scheduled for next Monday.

Despite arriving six months late, the PP did not want to waste the opportunity offered by the fact that Santiago Abascal's party, on this occasion, was willing to support it. Both parties negotiated with the suspicion that these could be the last budgets they will pass this term, which will enter the pre-election campaign phase starting in September. For this reason, the far right has demanded significant concessions from the PP on language and immigration. "They have been bled dry," summarizes a Socialist source. However, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Antoni Costa, will sign the order to prepare the 2026 budget next week, as reported by informed sources. Prohens is aware that, with the comings and goings of his partners, you never know and does not want to give up trying again.

It also paves the way for a planning amnesty in protected areas of the Serra de Tramuntana. The law was passed despite complaints from the left, which accused the sponsoring groups of violating parliamentary rules. The reason is that a new article was added at the time of the vote, when the text that usually reaches the plenary session is the opinion issued by the parliamentary committee. The left-wing groups have announced that they will take the law to the Constitutional Court (CC).
