The plenary session of the Parliament will give the green light to the creation of a private university that will bear the name of Mallorca with the favorable vote of the PP and Vox, the abstention of the PSIB, and the vote against MÉS per Mallorca. Neither the lawyers' criticisms, nor the PSIB's opposition, nor the threat from MÉS to go to the Constitutional Court have stopped the PP and Vox in their attempt to modify 70 norms at once through the Law on strategic projects. The two parties have recovered, asserting their majority in the Parliament's Board, the hundred amendments (88 from the PP and 12 from Vox) that the Economy Commission's board rejected, considering that they had nothing to do with the object of the Law.

The sale of the warehouse and the rustic land exploited by the founding company l'Esplet is now the last chapter in the disappearance of a benchmark in the Balearic countryside. At the beginning of the month, the company's closure and the dismissal of its 19 workers due to economic problems were made public. Now, two weeks later, the company is selling the warehouse and land for five million euros.

The Government met last Wednesday with the spokespeople of the parliamentary groups to hear their proposals before presenting its anti-crisis decree-law. It is a series of economic measures to address the increase in prices caused by the war in Iran. But just two days later, President Marga Prohens announced the Executive's proposal. She did so, as MÉS per Mallorca and Vox have denounced, without even sending them a draft of the decree-law beforehand. Nevertheless, the PP expects it to be approved with "unanimous" or "the broadest possible" consensus.

However, both Vox and MÉS per Mallorca have criticized that the Executive has not even shown them the text. "We don't even have a draft," said the spokesperson for the far-right, Manuela Cañadas. For their part, the PSIB has limited themselves to saying that they are waiting to see if the decree also includes social measures.

The Parliamentary Group of MÉS per Mallorca has informed the Parliament's Board that it will desist from processing any amendment to the Law on Strategic Projects that is not related to this regulation. In this way, the eco-sovereignists fully align themselves with the criteria of the chamber's jurists, who were very clear on the matter last week. As established by Article 125 of the regulations, amendments submitted to draft bills must be related to their subject matter, and only in case of unanimity among the members of the Board can an exception be made to introduce others.

The draft law on accelerating strategic projects has become riddled with loopholes during its parliamentary process. Political parties have introduced, through amendments, legislative modifications that have nothing to do with the purpose of the law. Starting with the PP and Vox, who have taken the opportunity to include the limitation of access to guaranteed social income and the creation of the Anti-Employment Office which they agreed upon almost a year ago. In light of this, the left has also presented amendments on other issues, including various measures to address the price increases associated with the war in Iran.

In a context of rising import and transport costs due to the war, MÉS per Mallorca has presented a proposal to facilitate the export of Balearic products by sea. The party's spokesperson, Lluís Apesteguia, argued that the cost of shipping containers from the Islands to the Spanish mainland should be reduced to maximize cargo capacity. "It's a measure for economic diversification," he said.

The People's Party (PP), Vox, and Coalition for Mallorca have approved a motion in the plenary session of the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council) demanding a ban on people wearing burkas or niqabs entering the institution's buildings. The PP presented the initiative, which received 18 votes in favor from the councilors of the three parties, compared to 13 votes against from the Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands (PSIB) and Més for Mallorca. PP member Maria Garrido defended the proposal, emphasizing that in Spain, equality and human dignity "are not slogans," but rather "constitutional mandates." She indicated that this debate "went beyond a garment," arguing that it raised the question of whether, "in a democratic society, it is acceptable for a woman to walk down the street without a face covering."

Left-wing MPs have found a way to undermine the ministers during government oversight sessions: they ask the questions they are obliged to answer (although they often do not) in a broad and expressly ambiguous way, to catch them off guard. "Can there be equality without equity?" was a question from the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) registered in the plenary session this Tuesday. "Is the cost of living bearable in our city?" asked MÁS (More for Change).

Vox's deputy spokesperson in the Balearic Parliament, Sergio Rodríguez, applauded a "historic event" on Monday: the repeal of the Balearic Islands' Democratic Memory Law, which will take place on Tuesday in Parliament. He considers it historic for two reasons. First, because it will eliminate a "partisan, freedom-crushing" law. Second, because it is "the first law to be passed solely at Vox's initiative": "It's the first law we've passed."

MÁS per Mallorca proposes that large commercial establishments and other infrastructure that generate high traffic flow should reimburse public funds for a portion of the associated costs. The party has urged the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca) to initiate the necessary technical and legal work to create a special use fee for public roads in cases where these spaces generate a unique and structural level of traffic. Joan Llodrà, deputy spokesperson for MÁS per Mallorca in the Consell, explained that the objective is "to apply a basic principle of justice and responsibility: those who cause intensive and specific use of public infrastructure must bear the resulting additional costs." According to the party, the island's road network is under increasing pressure due to the concentration of large commercial areas and infrastructure on the outskirts and the reliance on private vehicles. This necessitates widening access roads, reinforcing roundabouts, and more intensive maintenance, the cost of which is currently borne by all citizens. The motion proposes identifying sections of road with particularly high traffic volumes linked to major facilities, commissioning individualized mobility studies, and preparing an economic and financial report to quantify the differential cost. It also plans to request the necessary legal reports to guarantee the viability and proportionality of the measure. MÁS has emphasized that the toll, if implemented, would be earmarked for specific purposes, and the revenue would be allocated to the maintenance of the affected road network. Furthermore, these resources would free up part of the Council's ordinary budget to invest in public transportation and sustainable mobility projects. The initiative, which will be debated in plenary session on Thursday, is part of a shift in the model towards territorial cohesion, strengthening local businesses, and reducing dependence on private vehicles. According to Llodrà, "We cannot continue to socialize the costs of an unsustainable model. Mallorca needs responsibility, fairness, and mobility designed for the future."

Parliament will call for the creation of a special committee on the Balearic Islands' airports to oversee airport co-management. Más per Mallorca and Más per Menorca have presented an initiative to this effect, which also has the support of the People's Party (PP). Therefore, it is expected to pass.

The First Vice President, Government Spokesperson, and Minister of Finance, Antoni Costa, accused the Spanish government on Tuesday of categorically refusing to accept joint airport management to regulate tourist flows. He also noted, contrary to the claims of Aena, the company that manages the airport, that "if you look at the airport, on the right-hand side, there appears to be some expansion."

How to organize the space to the left of the PSOE to curb the rise of Vox? This question has been behind several recent moves in Madrid: Gabriel Rufián's (ERC) call to build a republican front and Yolanda Díaz's announcement that she will not run again as Sumar's candidate in 2027. For now, MÁS per Mallorca has avoided commenting on these changes or giving any clues about its future. But the debate engulfing the left affects them directly. Is it worth having a member of parliament in Congress? If they run again in a coalition, what alliances would be best? What role should Balearic eco-sovereignism play in Madrid? The sources consulted only agree on the starting point: AraMés must lead the candidacy in the Balearic Islands, whatever form it takes.

After the PP and Vox rejected the proposal from MÉS for Mallorca To limit home purchases by non-residents, the pro-independence party will register its proposal in the Congress of Deputies. "We will not give up," said the parliamentary group's spokesperson, Lluís Apesteguia. "Our proposal empowers municipalities so that, if someone does not want to build their life in the Islands, they can say that they cannot buy a home," he explained at a press conference accompanied by the party's representative in the lower house, Vicenç Vidal. MÁS per Mallorca demanded on Monday that the PP and Vox parties support the eco-sovereignists' proposed law to prohibit non-residents from buying homes, which will be debated this Tuesday in the Balearic Parliament. The President of the Government of Mallorca, Marga Prohens, has accused MÁS per Mallorca of trying to "deceive" the public with its proposed law to restrict home purchases by non-residents. In statements reported by Europa Press, she confirmed that the People's Party (PP) will vote against the initiative, which is being debated this Tuesday in the Balearic Parliament. "After eight years without ideas and without policies, it's like a miracle that they go into opposition and suddenly come up with magical solutions for the housing emergency," she criticized. Despite being "more or less in agreement" with the measure, the President considered the eco-sovereignists' solution to the housing emergency "unrealistic" because it clashes with European legislation.

MÉS per Mallorca has publicly denounced the "unprecedented" setback suffered by the Catalan language in institutions governed by the PP (People's Party) and has warned of a "coordinated offensive" against linguistic normalization. Coinciding with International Mother Language Day, the party warned that since the beginning of the legislature, decisions have accumulated that weaken the institutional presence of Catalan and "break" the social consensus built over decades in favor of linguistic normalization. In a press release, MÉS accused the PP of promoting policies with the support of Vox that "constitute a strategy of linguistic regression that affects all institutions and all areas." The party's organizational secretary, Maria Ramon, criticized the Government's language policy, especially the elimination of the Catalan requirement in public healthcare and the agreements with Vox that affect the use of Catalan in education. Specifically, he criticized the progressive increase in Spanish-language categories at the Mallorca Awards, the "Spanishization" of websites and institutional procedures, and the withdrawal of funding from organizations such as the Obra Cultural Balear and Jóvenes de Mallorca por la Llengua (Youth of Mallorca for Language). MÉS per Palma also condemned the City Council's language policy. The party's spokesperson in the Palma City Council, Neus Truyol, criticized the implementation of policies that "weaken the presence of Catalan in the municipal administration."
