Those held atop the mountain overlooking Porreres, with its serene and magnetic beauty, are a good example. This was the feeling that filled the auditorium of the Higher Conservatory of Music of the Balearic Islands last night, in a concert marking Evgeny Grinko's debut in Mallorca at the SonsDeNit festival.

Inca's Teatro Principal hosted a concert filled with passion and emotion. Jay-Jay Johanson returned to Mallorca as part of SonsDeNit, with his new album –Backstage–, but, above all, with the desire to rediscover an audience that knows him, loves him, and remembers him.

Paz Aguado's clear and warm voice opened Saturday's evening in the gardens of the Torre de los Enagistes in Manacor. Formentera native Paz Aguado offered a sincere and delicate concert, woven with words that speak of the everyday and embrace without artifice. Her way of singing—from esteem and beauty—connected directly with the audience. The final stretch of July at SonsDeNit invites us to three special nights, spread across Mallorca and Menorca, with performances that share a deep sensitivity, a spirit of authenticity, and a commitment to live performances as a space for emotion and truth.

Next week, from July 15th to 19th, Sonsdenit unfolds its most international week of the festival. Specifically, the event will offer five acts from the United States, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Portugal, and the Balearic Islands, offering a musical journey as diverse as it is coherent.

The best definition for the concert that musician Marcel Cranc (the stage name of Mallorcan Miquel Vicensastre) will give next Friday, July 4th, is neither his own nor a recent statement. It's the phrase an uncle told him when, years ago, he found him engrossed in front of the television—which at the time only broadcast in black and white, as the composer well recalls. He was still a child and couldn't take his eyes off the famous Pink Floyd concert in Pompeii, which took place in 1972. "This music isn't meant to be heard with your ears," his uncle told him. And he must have been right because, forty years later, Marcel Cranc says that if he closes his eyes, he can still hear it.

The SonsDeNit festival features several performances that approach singer-songwriter music from different perspectives. The festival featured a performance by Marcel Cranc on July 4th at the Inca Theater, and on July 5th, the Sterlin trio presented their second concert, Sterlin Plays Cohen, dedicated to Leonard Cohen's album Songs of Love and Hate. With new arrangements and Catalan translations by Adela Peraita, the group offers a style of performance that combines detail, care, and a distinctive sound.
