Llucmajor has activated the health emergency with the aim of launching the urgent collection of waste due to its accumulation in public spaces. The motion, which was unanimously approved in the City Council's plenary session, had been presented by PSIB and PSOE, MÉS per Llucmajor, Llibertat Llucmajor and S'Ull.

The opposition in the Llucmajor City Council has asked the municipal government team to draw up an emergency shock plan in the face of the "health risk" generated by the accumulation of garbage in the areas of El Arenal and the urbanizations. The proposal, signed by PSIB, MÉS, Llibertat Llucmajor, and s'Ull, was presented this Wednesday at the information committee prior to the plenary session that will take place next week. The initiative, as the four parties reported in a joint statement, seeks to urge the government team to re-establish a minimum waste collection service in the face of the "chaos" of the "deficient" system that was implemented a few years ago and which has been "aggravated" by the currently accumulated dirt.

The mayor of Llucmajor, Xisca Lascolas, will not run as the PP's candidate in the next municipal elections in 2027. In a letter sent to the media, the councilor announces that she will not seek re-election as a candidate for mayor, a decision, she assures, "considered and made with serenity". Lascolas has admitted that the legislature is “difficult and complex” and acknowledges that she has not always been right and has made mistakes. "Although I have the peace of mind of knowing that I have always made decisions thinking solely of the general interest," she remarks. Waste management, the possible large poultry farm, and the works at the Son Fosquets industrial estate have been some of the main problems Lascolas has had to face during this term.

At the last plenary session of the Llucmajor Town Council, which saw significant citizen participation demanding solutions for the Llucmajor Music School—including the Association of Families and Students—the mayor, Xisca Lascolas, called for a recess. During the break, the microphone was left on and recorded the conversation between Lascolas and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Inmaculada Pérez. "You should have continued and not called for any withdrawals, screw them all," Pérez remarked. "No, I want them to leave," the mayor replied. "They'll leave anyway," the councilor insisted as the residents left the plenary session. But the microphone not only recorded this incident, it also captured Lascolas asking the participants to "make way." "I should be home by 10," she insisted.
