The Son Bonet Pulmón Verde (Son Bonet Green Lung) platform has collected more than 2,300 signatures in defense of protecting the public space of Son Bonet, in a further demonstration of citizen rejection of the photovoltaic mega-park project promoted by AENA (the Spanish airport authority). The petition, launched a few months ago both digitally and in person, has garnered nearly a thousand signatures through the Change.org platform and more than 1,200 signatures collected in the streets and squares of the municipality. This figure adds to the more than 1,200 objections already submitted against the declaration of the project as being of strategic industrial interest. Despite this sustained citizen support, the platform denounces a complete lack of institutional response. They assert that, after more than two months of requesting meetings, they have still not been received by the President of the Balearic Government, Margalida Prohens. They also don't hide their displeasure with the attitude of the mayor of Marratxí, Jaume Llompart, whom they accuse of avoiding clear explanations about the project's true status and the steps taken by the authorities.

A group of residents gathered on Tuesday to protest the City Council's "lack of transparency" regarding Aena's photovoltaic mega-park project in Son Bonet. The environmental platform Son Bonet Pulmón Verde (Son Bonet Green Lung) denounced that, despite the latest meeting with the mayor, the information provided by the local government was "insufficient and unclear." They are demanding access to all environmental documentation related to the project and have indicated they may take legal action if public participation and transparency are not guaranteed.

The Son Bonet Pulmón Verde (SBPV) platform has announced that it is invoking the Aarhus Convention, a European directive that guarantees the right of citizens to access environmental information, in response to the "lack of transparency" shown by the mayor of Marratxí, Jaume Llompart, regarding the photovoltaic mega-park project.

Some 200 people gathered this Sunday at Son Bonet to protest the massive solar park that Aena plans to build there. They claim that the Spanish government's new airport investment plan includes the massive park.

The Son Bonet Green Lung Platform (SBPV) has denounced that Aena has resumed its "destructive offensive" against the Son Bonet green space following the announcement by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of an airport investment plan for the period 2026-2031. The organization warns that this plan entails reactivating the Son Bonet photovoltaic megapark project, despite the institutional and public rejection received so far.

Another act of vandalism in the green space of Son Bonet. This Saturday night, in the Pla de na Tesa neighborhood and as part of the Summer Festival, a group of seven young people entered this green space in Marratxí. The youths destroyed trees and signs and left manure and trash everywhere, according to the Son Bonet Pulmó Verd platform.

The residents of Son Bonet organized a dinner this Wednesday to commemorate the full moon. The goal is to water the more than 1,000 trees planted by the Son Bonet Pulmó Verd association and dine in this park, where AENA has been planning a photovoltaic park for years. The dinner included a performance by a group of xeremiers (a Spanish guitarist).
