This was announced on Thursday by the spokesperson for the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), Rubén del Campo, during the presentation of the winter climate report. According to the forecasts, there is approximately a 70% probability that the three-month period will have above-average temperatures. The Aemet delegation in the Islands explains that the average temperature for the April-June period is most likely to exceed 18°C, the value considered normal. The usual trend is for temperatures to rise gradually throughout spring, with the highest values towards the end of the period.

Intense gusts and waves up to four meters high are expected, especially in the most exposed areas. In Ibiza and Formentera, the alert covers the entire island. Westerly winds could reach gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour, with associated rough seas. In Mallorca, the alert is focused on the south of the island, the Levante region, and the Tramuntana mountain range. Locally intense storms are possible in these areas, with wind gusts reaching 80 kilometers per hour, precipitation with small hail, and waves up to four meters high. In Menorca, Aemet (the Spanish State Meteorological Agency) warns of adverse coastal conditions, with westerly winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour and rough seas, with waves that could reach three meters. This episode of unstable weather is linked to Storm Ingrid, which is affecting much of Spain this Saturday. Snowfall is expected in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula above 300 to 500 meters, while waves could exceed eight meters along the Galician coast and other parts of the Cantabrian Sea, in a weekend marked by numerous weather warnings.

The warning will be in effect until 7:59 a.m. on Wednesday due to the forecast of minimum temperatures that could reach between -2 and -3 degrees Celsius in different parts of the island, especially in inland and high mountain areas. Meanwhile, Menorca will maintain an orange warning for strong winds and coastal phenomena from midnight. North wind gusts of between 60 and 70 kilometers per hour, corresponding to force 8, are expected, along with waves of four to five meters, with a maximum height that could reach eight or nine meters. Aemet recommends taking extreme precautions during this episode of intense cold and rough seas, especially when traveling and engaging in outdoor activities, and also in the most exposed coastal areas.

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) predicted this Tuesday that in the first quarter of 2026, temperatures above 11 degrees Celsius are "most likely," the average temperature for the first three months of the year. "It is most likely that on most days, temperatures will be above normal," the agency emphasized in a statement. Regarding rainfall, Aemet indicated that an average of 136 liters per square meter will fall during the quarter, a typical figure for this time of year. Christmas temperatures will be "mild," according to Aemet. Maximum temperatures will range between 16 and 17 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures will be around eight degrees, and rain is possible.
