Unió de Pagesos de Mallorca (Mallorca Farmers' Union) has expressed its "deep disappointment and outrage" in a statement regarding the recent remarks made by the Vice President of the Balearic Government and Minister of Economy, Antoni Costa. In an interview given this Tuesday, Costa said that "the wine chosen for these holidays would be a Ribera del Duero, blatantly ignoring the excellent wine production of our islands," according to the farmers' union. Unió de Pagesos considers it "unacceptable that the highest-ranking official in the community's economy turns his back on the local primary sector at the time of peak consumption of the year." Furthermore, the union points out that the Balearic wine sector "is a benchmark of quality with Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications that receive international acclaim." Therefore, the farmers' union insisted: "Recommending products from elsewhere from a public institution is not only a communication blunder, but a direct attack on food sovereignty and the sustainability of our landscape."

The First Vice President of the Balearic Government and Minister of Economy, Antoni Costa, has stated that the Strategic Projects Decree, "100% agreed upon with Vox," legally enables the transfer of waste from Ibiza to Mallorca. The spokesperson for the Balearic Government, Antoni Costa, denied this Friday that the legislature is blocked – just this Friday the Governing Council gave the green light to the decree accelerating projects agreed upon with Vox – he ruled out bringing forward the elections and admitted that he does not rule out approving the 2026 regional budget if circumstances allow. In the press conference following the Governing Council meeting, Costa insisted that the Executive "continues to govern and approve initiatives," and cited as an example the decree accelerating projects which, after being agreed upon with Vox, has parliamentary approval assured. The Government spokesperson reiterated that the situation is the opposite of that of the central government. "We are in the opposite situation to Pedro Sánchez. We are temporarily operating under a budget extension, but we can continue approving legislation. What is blocked and riddled with corruption is the central government, which is the one taking so long to call elections," he added.

The spokesperson for the Catalan government, Antoni Costa, stated this Friday that he has no information regarding the alleged misappropriation of public funds by Vox, as reported by the former parliamentary spokesperson for the far-right party, Idoia Ribas, but stressed that if it can be proven, it must be brought to court.
