According to the Agency, these structures occupied a significant portion of the land and had not obtained any authorization for their construction. Following the appropriate procedures, the structures were demolished, and the land has been restored to its previous natural state. According to current urban planning regulations, any building or installation intended to house animals requires prior municipal authorization. The Agency reminds the public that, although some owners attempt to justify these types of constructions as "houses" or for other uses, these spaces are also subject to licensing, especially when located on rural land.

The streets where the former establishments are located were closed off by the local police, and only the cars of the attending politicians, of which there were many, were allowed access. In front of the Teix Hotel, the president of the regional government, Marga Prohens, announced plans to replicate this initiative in other municipalities across the islands, specifically in Cales de Mallorca and Sant Antoni de Portmany. The regional government intends to continue demolishing "obsolete" hotels with the aim of "moving away from an offering that no longer adds value to the islands and improving services and the quality of life for residents," explained President Prohens. In fact, the regional government will allocate 15 million euros from the Sustainable Tourism Tax (ITS) to the acquisition and demolition of such facilities.

The Costitx Town Council has issued fines in the last three months to people who have illegally dumped construction debris at the municipal recycling center. The installation of surveillance cameras has been key to identifying the offenders and processing the corresponding fines, which range from €300 to €1,500, as established by the municipal ordinance. In some of the detected cases, as can be seen in the image provided by the Town Council, the perpetrators even used wheelbarrows to unload the waste, clearly violating the regulations on the management of construction debris. Three of the fines were considered serious and carried the maximum penalty stipulated by the ordinance, amounting to €1,500. In the other cases, the infractions were minor, and the fine was €300. The City Council reminds residents that this type of waste cannot be freely disposed of at the recycling center; instead, the established procedures must be followed to ensure proper and environmentally responsible management. The City Council urges citizens to act responsibly and with environmental awareness to preserve the environment and avoid penalties.
