The legislation establishes the framework for the City Council to recognize and provide reparations to the victims of Francoism, remove symbols of the dictatorship, preserve memorial sites, and promote educational and historical outreach activities. The ordinance also enabled the creation of the Municipal Council for Democratic Memory, a pioneering body in the Balearic Islands with the participation of memorial and social organizations.

"Vox will fulfill its promise to repeal the sectarian and unjust Democratic Memory Law in the next plenary session." The far-right spokesperson, Manuela Cañadas, celebrated the fact that the law's repeal will finally be on the agenda next Tuesday. "The era of revenge and the dictatorship of a single way of thinking is over," she declared. To carry out her plans, she will have the support of the PP (People's Party), which considers the law unnecessary. The People's Party (PP) and Vox will reject a comprehensive amendment proposed by left-wing groups next Tuesday to block the repeal of the Democratic Memory Law. This is an attempt by the Socialist Party of the Balearic Islands (PSIB), Más per Mallorca, Más per Menorca, and Unidas Podemos to maintain the law after the PP renewed its push for its elimination to appease Vox. "We are very calm," said the spokesperson for the far-right party, Manuela Cañadas, who expressed confidence that the PP "will keep its word." A multipurpose classroom is also planned to alleviate overcrowding in the secondary and high school programs. The works are financed by the Island Factor (REIB).

Maria Ripoll Garau, from Porreres, passed away this Sunday at the age of 97.
