According to Glovo data, nearly 18,000 croquettes were ordered in the Balearic Islands during 2025, with Palma leading the ranking, followed by Inca and Ibiza. January saw the most orders, but the peak day of the year was February 2nd: in just one day, Balearic Islanders sent 140 croquette orders for home delivery, almost six per hour. As for flavors, chicken croquettes are the most popular, followed by boiled meat and ham croquettes. However, the most requested croquettes in Palma aren't just traditional: at Coyunda, you can try everything from classic Iberian ham croquettes to more creative versions with bacon and Parmesan cheese. Asador Real maintains its success with classic recipes and La Rosa Vermutería stands out with croquettes of txuletónSpinach with blue cheese and walnuts, or even, for dessert, rice pudding.

A recent example is a bar in Mallorca where a literal translation was used for the menu, resulting in errors such as "Copa vino la casa" (house wine glass), a term commonly used to refer to the wine the establishment offers that isn't from major brands or well-known labels. This case was reported on social media by the Instagram profile [name of Instagram profile missing]. @mallorcaviralThe comments on the post came pouring in. "We'll see things," one user remarked, referring to the large number of spelling mistakes and poor translations found on restaurant menus in the Balearic Islands.

A lifetime dedicated to the hospitality industry, starting with a small hostel in Peguera, moving on to the bar at the San Fernando sports center, and culminating in the resounding success of Can Biel Felip, Roca defines himself as an "old-fashioned" restaurateur. The key to his business and his success is quality and care, both in the products and the preparation of the recipes, as well as in the customers, whom he knows almost personally and enjoys speaking with day after day. The founder of Can Biel Felip is one of the great champions of Mallorcan cuisine and acknowledges that one of the reasons that prompted him to embrace this type of traditional cuisine was that he saw that "food from abroad was in fashion and no one was taking care of ours, the local cuisine."
