Social and environmental organizations have launched the citizen campaign Salvem Portopí with the aim of stopping the planned transformation in this area of the Port of Palma. The initiative, promoted by ARCA, GOB, Palma XXI, and Fridays For Future Mallorca, calls for a reorganization of port uses that is "logical, quick to execute, and respectful of historical heritage and the environment". The project they question includes the possible implementation of an industrial estate and a waste treatment plant in the Portopí dock. According to the organizations, this action would constitute an "environmental and landscape aggression" in a space with high historical and symbolic value for the city.

Conservation organizations such as Palma XXI and GOB will not attend the meeting of the Municipal Climate Cycle Commission as a gesture of protest against the destruction of the arboreal group of the bellasombras of CalatravaPalma XXI considers this action to be "an unprecedented act of extreme violence" against Palma's natural and urban heritage, and laden with "deeply worrying symbolism, absolutely incompatible" with the democratic, environmental, and cultural values ​​that should guide public action. GOB Mallorca will also not attend the meeting of the Municipal Climate Cycle Commission, thus joining the protest announced by other entities, such as Palma XXI, against the destruction of the Bellaombras de la Calatrava woodland. GOB sources consider this action to be "an extremely serious and absolutely unjustifiable act," from an environmental, heritage, and social perspective. "We are facing a direct attack against Palma's natural and urban heritage, carried out with a violence incompatible with the democratic, environmental, and cultural values ​​that should guide any public action, especially in the context of a declared climate crisis," they explained.

Members of the Civil Society Forum On Wednesday, they called for a sailing school to be built in the port of Palma, specifically at the breakwater, the restoration of Muelle Vell to increase the city's proximity to the sea, and the shifting of nautical repression to the western breakwater. These are the main actions envisaged in the alternative proposal prepared by the entity to refute the preliminary draft port reorganization proposal drawn up by the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB). According to Jaume Garau, a member of the Fòrum executive committee, the APB's initiative "implies an increase in ship mobility and the need for new platforms, which is absolutely absurd."

The Federation of Neighborhood Associations, together with Palma XXI, take the case to court. the civic ordinance of Palma with "the aim of overturning it," according to the president of the Federation, Maribel Alcázar. To this end, the neighborhood groups have filed an administrative appeal in the Provincial Court against the legislation recently approved by Cort with the support of the PP and Vox.
