The Government will expand the Freus Marine Reserve by 5,600 hectares.

The Government, at the suggestion of the sector and the Formentera Council, will expand the Freus Marine Reserve by 5,600 hectares and join it with the Punta de la Cruz reserve. With this expansion, the reserve's total area would increase from 15,500 hectares to 21,190.
