A debate on the future of the region in the face of the transformation it is undergoing, like the whole island, accelerated by an economic and productive model that seeps into every corner of the geography.

The archaeological excavations at the Talayotic site of Son Mas del Potecari, in Inca, continue to provide new clues about the history of the monument. The residents of Sant Jordi reported this Wednesday the disappearance of several elements they consider to be heritage of the area for the construction of a new development of more than a hundred homes. According to what they explained, an excavator demolished two structures that the residents had identified as talaiots, even though the Palma City Council claims they were not protected heritage elements.

The Almudaina Palace will reopen this Wednesday, July 29, after a comprehensive renovation of 2.57 million euros that transforms the visit to the monument and incorporates spaces that were previously closed to the public. A new digital platform allows the discovery of 50 emblematic spaces in Mallorca through videos, photographs, augmented reality, Street View, and virtual reconstructions. The project, Mallorca Digitalitzada i Realitat Augmentada, presented this Monday at Es Baluard, consists of an interactive website and an experimental application that collect a selection of heritage spaces and elements from the island chosen for their historical, cultural, landscape, and ethnological relevance.
