Throughout the period in which doctors have been on strike against the Ministry's Statute, IB-Salut has maintained a constant attitude of not offering its own monitoring data on the impact of the mobilizations on the medical staff. Instead of publishing official percentages on the professionals' adherence to the stoppage, the Administration has limited itself to reporting on the affected healthcare activity, detailing suspensions of consultations, diagnostic tests, and surgical interventions, as well as rescheduling derived from the situation.

Doctors and medical professionals are called this Monday to a new week of strike, from May 18 to 22, the fourth since the beginning of the year, to reject the framework statute proposed by the Ministry of Health and demand their own text.

The IB-Salut has had to suspend a total of 11,039 healthcare procedures this week due to the strike by medical staff against the reform of the framework statute for statutory health service personnel proposed by the Ministry of Health. The Administration has assured that it will reschedule all canceled activity to minimize the impact on users. The strike, which has now been ongoing for twenty days, has had a considerable cumulative impact: during this period, 62,883 medical procedures have had to be rescheduled throughout the archipelago.

The Union of Doctors of the Balearic Islands (Simebal-CESM) maintains the strike planned for next week, from April 27 to 30, against the draft of the Framework Statute due to the lack of agreement with the Ministry of Health. The strikes, the third this year, are maintained after the different meetings held with the Ministry regarding the demands of the Strike Committee, focused on achieving decent working conditions for doctors and the guarantee of public healthcare, Simebal stated in a press release collected by Europa Press.

Public hospitals in the Balearic Islands, as usual every summer, are overcrowded. Doctors, led by the Simebal union, denounced the "critical situation" of the emergency services and urged the population to seek primary care first "to avoid unnecessary collapse." They also demanded that the administration provide the necessary human and material resources "to guarantee safe and dignified care."
