"I received a traffic fine, just like 200,000 other people might," replies Catalina Soler, the mayor of Felanitx, when asked about the €100 fine she allegedly received from the Civil Guard last May for supposedly disrespecting officers. "What I've received doesn't match what's been reported, neither in the amount nor the details, so I've already put it in the hands of my lawyer."

The Court of Instruction Number 1 of Manacor has ordered the provisional dismissal of the case opened against the mayor of Felanitx, Catalina Soler (Popular Party), in connection with a complaint filed by a local police officer accusing her of resistance, disobedience, and threats during an incident last July. According to the court order, the court considers that it has not been sufficiently proven that Soler committed any crime, and therefore has decided to provisionally dismiss the case. The complaint, which had generated some controversy in the municipality, stemmed from a personal and professional conflict between the mayor and one of the local police officers, after the officer wrote an internal report stating that Soler had threatened him during the Portocolom Wine Festival last July.

The extraordinary plenary session held this Thursday at Felanitx Town Hall once again brought the mayor, Catalina Soler, face to face with the controversy surrounding the incidents that occurred on the night of July 12th at the Uva Wine Fest in Portocolom with a local police officer. Soler denied having threatened or insulted him, but admitted that she reproached him for not having seen him patrolling despite being responsible for security.

The mayor of Felanitx, Catalina Soler, wanted to respond this Tuesday to the serious accusations against her, extracted from a police report made public on Monday, and in which she is accused Carrajita of uttering a series of insults and obscene gestures towards the Local Police officer Miquel Sastre, during the celebration of the Portocolom wine festival this past weekend, while he was on duty.
