With this message, the new coalition of El Pi and Som Mallorca, called Por Mallorca, was presented this Friday in Palma. "There are no other people in Mallorca," said one of its promoters and coordinators, Joan Serra, who vowed to "defend the residents and ensure they act like true Mallorcans." The group intends to run in the next elections. The general secretary of El Pi, Tolo Gili, expressed the group's desire to regain representation in the Balearic Parliament and even reach the Spanish Congress. "We are a project that wants to shake things up in Madrid, to get rid of these 'Teresas,'" he said, referring to the national parties.

In times of fragmentation and disconnection, spaces like the Blanquerna Seminar remind us of the importance of collective thinking and building. This year marks the fortieth anniversary of this project, launched by the Blanquerna Group, which was created with the aim of providing a space for debate, training, and interaction among people with concerns about the country and a desire to transform it. Four decades later, the seminar has established itself as a leading voice in Mallorcan political thought and a focal point for the sovereignty movement in the Catalan Countries.

While sources within the People's Party (PP) confirm President Marga Prohens's intention to win over El Pi voters, movements are emerging to promote center-right Mallorcan nationalism in the lead-up to the next elections. This coincides with the presentation ofPolitical Mallorcanism (1936-2024) [Leonardo Muntaner Editor], Several historians have focused on this ideology, which persists despite demographic changes. What defines it, and where is it represented?

Not out of hatred or contempt, but out of liberation. Mallorcanism must do it, and quickly. Because whether we like it or not, it still functions with ideas inherited from the Transition. A time when it seemed everything was possible... and then it wasn't so much. We keep repeating rituals that give us a false sense of coherence—what demonstrations we organized! What speeches!—while the real country falls apart in our hands.
