"Private property is defended, and squatters are removed within 24 hours." This is how the president of the Govern, Marga Prohens, responded to a parliamentary question from Unides Podem about the social function of housing. In the same vein, she accused the purple deputy José María García of wanting to equate "doing social housing policy with protecting criminals, defending occupation, and placing social responsibility on the shoulders of property owners".

"Stop making a fool of yourself and deceiving. You, ideology and zero management": this is the accusation that the Minister of the Presidency, Antònia Maria Estarellas, launched at the PSIB deputy Omar Lamin during Tuesday's Parliament session. What kind of accusation is it to tell a politician they have ideology, when it is precisely the ideology of public representatives that determines a good part of citizens' lives? At this point, it is worth remembering what Slavoj Žižek says, who considers that the most dangerous ideology is precisely the one we pretend not to have. It is not an theoretical extravagance. Jürgen Habermas also warned that technical rationality —what we would call 'management' today— can impose values while presenting itself as neutral. And Thomas Piketty has been reminding us for years that behind many technical decisions lie very specific ideological choices about inequality. From this, an uncomfortable conclusion emerges: 'management' is often not the alternative to ideology, but its best disguise.

The obsession with death that exists from certain interpretations of religious creeds and now from the so-called ultra-agenda – more or less stale conservatism – is indeed worrying and revealing. According to Christian religion, we would be told that our life does not belong to us, and therefore it is not right to want to die or end it when we sensibly wish. Life is a kind of divine gift, of which we are only custodians, like a wonderful book that is not ours and which we must return more or less intact to the Librarian Above. A few days ago it was reported in the press – and also announced by the InfoCatólica website – that Pope Leo XIV had approved two normative texts: the General Regulations of the Roman Curia and the General Regulations for the Personnel of the Roman Curia. These documents establish the Vatican's new organizational and linguistic framework and, among other changes, deprive Latin of the central role it had held for centuries. It is stipulated that departments of ecclesiastical and administrative affairs must write their acts in Latin or another language, a formulation that leaves Latin unprotected against any modern language. At the same time, the requirement of "good knowledge of Latin" for Vatican employees is eliminated, and an administrative model is adopted that prioritizes Italian and other contemporary languages. However, the traditional Office of Latin Letters within the Secretariat of State is maintained, tasked with drafting and translating all kinds of documents into Latin, including the Pope's tweets.

The Feixina Christmas Market has a distinctly Central European flavor. According to the list of stalls submitted by the organizers to the Palma City Council, which ARA Baleares has obtained, 45 of the 61 stalls are registered to just two businessmen from Germany and Austria. Months before the event, these two men formed a limited company to manage markets. Gerald Kendlbacher, who has gained media attention as a collaborator in organizing the market, controls 29 stalls. The investigation opened by Palma's Court of Instruction Number 6 into Vox's Islamophobic billboards continues to progress. The judge has requested that the Public Prosecutor's Office ask the Balearic Islands' security forces to determine the scope and possible coordination of the racist campaign, whose posters have appeared in Palma, Inca, Menorca, and Ibiza. Several streets in Inca appeared this Monday plastered with xenophobic propaganda. The posters bore the message: "Against their submission, 'remigration.' The Inca that refuses to die." The Supreme Court has upheld the nine-year ban imposed on Aurora Jhardi, former Podemos councilor at Palma City Council, for administrative malfeasance. The ruling ratifies the sentence handed down by the Provincial Court and subsequently endorsed by the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands (TSJIB).

Palma City Council issued a statement this Wednesday following Podemos' accusations of alleged purchases of police equipment from Israel. Municipal spokesperson Mercedes Celeste emphasized that the City Council, like any other public institution, can only contract with companies registered in the official registry of companies authorized to work with public administrations.
