Tica Font (Vall d’Uixó, 1956) is the president and researcher at the Delàs Centre for Peace Studies. A graduate in Physics from the University of València, she has been the director of the Catalan International Institute for Peace and president of the Catalan Federation of NGOs for Peace. She is an expert in defense economics, arms trade, defense budgets, and the military industry. Font is one of the expert voices at the II Peace Conference organized by the Mallorca per la Pau platform and makes it clear that wars are a pretext for doing business.

The Mallorca per la Pau platform has organized the second edition of the Peace Conference, which will take place on April 24 and 25, with "a program open to the public and focused on the culture of peace, dialogue, and collective reflection," the entity reported in a statement. "In a geopolitical context marked by war, militarization, and the escalation of international conflicts – with figures like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu as examples of an increasingly polarized global scenario, marked by the normalization of conflict as a political tool – these conferences aim to reaffirm the need to clearly advocate for peace, disarmament, and the defense of life," the note adds.

Several organizations have called for an urgent rally against the imperialist war in Iran and the genocide in Palestine this Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the area known as Plaza de las Tortugas (Plaza de Juan Carlos I), in the Born district. In a poster shared on social media, the groups "Marchas de Mallorca por Palestina," "Mallorca por la Paz," and "Mallorca por Palestina" call for "peace and life."

Mallorca for Peace gathered this Friday at 6:30 p.m. to show their contempt for the United States' largest nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which arrived on the island this morning. The meeting point was at the end of the avenues and the Paseo Marítim. "Its presence is a symbol of war, threat, and military escalation," they denounced. The organization rejects NATO and its wars and urges a future of peace and coexistence among peoples.

Mallorca is already gearing up to unite this Thursday in a single cry: to demand an end to the genocide of the Palestinian people. The citizen initiative, supported by a dozen organizations, was launched on Wednesday, July 23, with around forty municipalities signing up.
