They would go out for walks after dark to some of Palma's classic bars: Es Carreró, Sa Font. Sometimes they would also go to Gomila: "And he would chat with everyone, he was very articulate, and he would go from group to group meeting people. Now perhaps he's lost a little of his charm, but he's still a sweetheart," says Pedro Moll, one of the friends the journalist—winner of the Ciutat de Palma novel prize—still keeps in touch with from his teenage years, laughing throughout the conversation. They grew up in Palma and didn't live far from each other: Jaume Oliver lived in the neighborhood near the bullring, and Pedro lived near Blanquerna. Since they became friends in the schoolyard (they weren't in the same class because Jaume is a year older than Pedro), they spent many evenings together. Pedro recounts that the now writer and journalist used to play hockey, in the version that is without skates (but with stickThey played volleyball together for a while, but that didn't last long either. What they did enjoy together was hiking, but don't think they went out every week: "Out of every ten times we got together, one ended up being a hike. It wasn't like it is now. We could improvise much more: the mountain huts were open, you didn't have to book, you could be more adventurous. We'd make it last longer," the friend recalls.

The explanation is simple, and anyone familiar with the scene will understand: when she started going out on weekends, she frequented the Plaça de sa Pobla bar, a hangout for young people from Sa Pobla and other nearby towns. Within the walls of this bar, Magdalena Serra (Sa Pobla, 1983), a journalist and presenter of the program... Now we're going From IB3, she danced to the songs of Blur, Oasis and REM, and made the song her own. At dawn from The Rebel Strawberries. Soler was a key figure in the emergence of new sounds in the 1960s, and his career at Radio Mallorca and in print media influenced generations of listeners and readers. Born in Murcia on March 16, 1939, Soler moved to Mallorca at a young age, where he made the island his home and built a journalistic and radio career that made him an icon of popular culture. In the early 1960s, with the arrival of modern music, he began his time at Radio Mallorca, where he presented programs that introduced artists and styles previously unknown to the general public in the Balearic Islands.

When he was scolded, very occasionally, he would refer to himself in the third person, we are told. He was born when his mother was 20 and his father 23, and they say that they would take him to the disco and the baby would remain peacefully dozing in his stroller. He ate well, studied and got good grades, he was quite good at soccer (which has been his passion and obsession all his life) and he enjoys playing the piano. Being a journalist was one of his childhood dreams and, almost without realizing it, he must be celebrating twenty years in the profession. He is Pedro Sánchez (Palma, 1985) and his sister, Neus Sánchez, who is seven years younger than him, tells us about him.

And if not, how can I explain why I should agree to do a double-page interview in exchange for 60 euros? That's what I asked myself a couple of months ago, when I received a proposal from a Catalan-language music magazine. "We know it's not much, but oh well..." they argued, as if offering condolences for a completely unavoidable loss, as if more could have been done, as if no further explanation were needed. I'm fine: it's not much, but so what? But can your medium only survive if you offer lower wages than the plumber's minimum travel charge? But should I practically have to pay you guys to be able to interview this gem of an artist? But I already know that, nevertheless, this won't feed me? While I would have loved to ask all these questions, one isn't that punkish, and I actually resolved it with a cowardly "Sorry, I'm really scatterbrained and won't have time to do the interview." I admit I'm good at playing dumb, but I didn't expect them to still outdo me by offering me the option of handing it in a few days later, as if that were the problem.

Going to Marivent Palace—that building that should belong to the Mallorcans, but is enjoyed only by the Bourbons—is an adventure if the purpose of the visit is work. I've attended many meetings between the president of the Spanish government and the head of state, and the situation is as precarious as ever. The journalists covering this meeting at Marivent—with subsequent statements that aren't exactly notable for their content—seem suspicious of some macabre plot to undermine the monarchy. Upon arrival, we're searched, scanned, and sent out by dogs to sniff everything we're carrying. Thankfully, laptops, pens, and notebooks aren't yet considered dangerous objects, but I suppose it's just a matter of time.

One of the classic plot threads in spy stories, but also in political novels, involves the handling of so-called "state secrets." Almost all of the world's states have secret services, which handle information derived from less-than-legal investigations, which have had to be done this way to safeguard larger interests. It's as if states, which claim to be governed by law, violate the rule of law when it comes to defending their identity, their security, even their territorial integrity.
