With this acquisition, Gual—who has over four decades of experience in the sector—is committed to maintaining and consolidating the bottling plant, in a strategy focused on preserving a resource he considers strategic for Mallorca. According to a company statement, the move reflects a desire to reinforce the island's productive and food sovereignty and to generate added value beyond the coastal areas. Gual is also president of the Sóller and Camp Mallorquí Agricultural Cooperative and vice president of the Oli de Mallorca Protected Designation of Origin. He also serves on the permanent board of the Serra de Tramuntana Consortium.

As detailed in a press release, this decision coincides with Quart Creixent joining the project led by Abacus Cooperativa and La22, an initiative supporting the network of independent bookstores. The bookstores explained that this new alliance will allow them to share resources, experiences, and tools to consolidate a strong network of bookstores, capable of facing the challenges of the sector and ensuring the continuity of cultural projects with their own distinct identity. Anna Nicolau, the project director, emphasized that "this new phase seeks to both highlight and reaffirm the essential role of independent bookstores as cultural meeting points, spaces for debate and social cohesion, and as a spearhead in promoting reading and knowledge throughout the community."

There was a brief gag from the series The young people in which Balowski enters a shop and says something like, "Good morning, is this a cheese shop?"; "No," replies the shopkeeper. "We've ruined the gag," the first one concludes. It was an absurd and delirious scene, but since we live in times where absurdity and delirium have taken over reality, perhaps it's time to accept that this running gag Life is losing all its charm.

The roof and the headline are from above. Not for a moment do I intend to talk about rearmament, or about the high temperature of the rentrée This fall's politics, which foreshadow a bleak future. We'll also cover this summer's weather and other social issues, to see if we can scratch a snag.

A tortilla sandwich, beer, and coffee, 28 euros. This isn't a luxury restaurant, but rather an ordinary bar with shared tables, usually at any of the airports in the Balearic Islands and the rest of Spain. "It's shameful to pay this much for a coffee and pastry. It makes me so angry that, if I can avoid it, I don't have anything. But you can't always. I travel practically every week, and sometimes, on the way back, you have no choice," explains Marta Riera, an executive who works at ARABalears.

"But we've never experienced the decline seen this year," remarks Juanmi Ferrer of CAEB Mallorca. "Many factors come into play: the retirement of small businesses that no one wants to continue, rising costs, and lease renewals that force you to rethink the future. All of this shows that margins are ridiculous for most. Otherwise, so many companies wouldn't close," he points out.
