Vehicles in Porreres that are over 25 years old, an estimated 1,700, but do not have the status of historic vehicle, according to the DGT, will begin to pay road tax starting in 2026, a burden they have been exempt from until now.

Porreres won't be setting off fireworks. This year's Sant Roc will mark a turning point in the town's festivities. Fireworks will be replaced by drones. A light and sound show will illuminate the sky of Porreres on the night of August 16th, starting at midnight.

The MÁS councilor for Porreres, Tomeu Garí, has apologized and resigned from his position at the Porreres City Council. He did so at the municipal plenary session this Monday, where he handed over his councilor's sworn address. "They are simply apologizing publicly, and from this moment on, I am stepping aside," said Garí, who has been a councilor for the Porreres City Council for the past six years.
