A foreign man died this Thursday after suffering a fall from a height of 30 meters in the municipality of Valldemossa.

The Valldemossa daycare center will close in two weeks, on November 19, after five years of operating under an expired public contract. The company currently managing the center, according to a statement from the Balearic Islands branch of the CCOO union, has already officially announced its intention to withdraw from the service.

The municipalities of the Tramuntana mountain range have the highest incomes in the Balearic Islands. According to the latest data from the Tax Agency, Esporles is the municipality with more than 1,000 inhabitants with the highest average gross income in the archipelago: 47,908 euros per year per tax return. It is closely followed by Valldemossa, with 46,046 euros, a municipality that had led this ranking in recent years and which this year occupies the second position.

Part of the roof of the Charterhouse of Valldemossa collapsed this Saturday. In response to the situation, the Association for the Revitalization of Ancient Centers (ARCA) has criticized the situation, calling for "effective preservation of this monumental complex for years" and stating that the neglect and lack of investment "has been a constant" and has demanded its restoration. "The roofs of the church and the Charterhouse have not been repaired; some are in the process of being repaired, while others are not," explains Concepció Bauçà, a doctor in Art History and member of ARCA. The problem with the Charterhouse goes back a long way. "Sometimes things are done, but not everything," she laments. As the association points out, this is not the first collapse that has occurred at the complex "due to insufficient conservation."

77% of Mallorca's taxis will provide their service jointly to eight municipalities on the island (Palma, Calvià, Esporles, Valldemossa, Llucmajor, Deià, Puigpunyent and Bunyola), all located between the Bay of Palma and the Tramuntana mountain range. This means that taxis in these municipalities will be able to pick up passengers in any other town that has signed up to the agreement and unload passengers anywhere in Mallorca. The towns that have joined the joint taxi service will also have the new single rate which has prompted the Government.
