The academy owned by former international tennis player Rafael Nadal in Manacor will be the main target of the increase in the Property Tax (IBI) approved by the Manacor City Council on Monday, which increases the value payable on properties for private sports use from 0.628% to 1.16%.

The traffic problems caused by the Rafa Nadal Academy, the Torre de los Enagistes municipal sports center, and the Manacor History Museum in a small space on the MA-4015 highway should have been resolved long ago. Far from this, it seems that the talks between the Consell de Mallorca and the City Council, led by Miquel Oliver, have reached a worrying impasse; and what's worse: with not one, but two roundabouts in sight that no one wants to pay for.
