My friends don't know this, but sometimes I have an internal competition to see who has the better relationship. It's my secret vice, frivolously analyzing where my boyfriend and I are better and where we're worse, compared to everyone else. I'd like to say it's my way of taking the pulse of my relationship, of knowing what works and what doesn'tAlthough it really seems more like a reflex, an involuntary tic driven by the need for immediate gratification. A form of entertainment. And I'm sure we're not alone. Comparing ourselves is one of the things that makes us most human. Nothing makes us as fragile and rational as believing ourselves to be better or worse than someone else. We constitute ourselves in this exercise, in relation to others. Otherness ultimately defines us. That's why we need to understand it thoroughly.

The 'Women's Eyes' film series, organized by the Estudi General Lul·lià, begins its second edition next Monday, November 17th, and runs until Thursday the 20th. This edition focuses on how teenagers experience their emotional and sexual relationships.

Rosalba coquettishly sets aside the cane she uses to steady her wiry frame. She doesn't want it in the photos accompanying the story of an 83-year-old woman who speaks candidly about her sex life. She settles onto a bench in Llucmajor's Plaza de España and, without being asked, reviews more than eight decades of her life. "I have no balance. I've broken my femur twice. I have a pacemaker and I've had breast cancer," she reveals, placing her hand on her right breast. "I'm bionic!" she declares in Italian, which she hasn't lost despite living in Mallorca for over four decades.

Lola's contact list is extensive, filled with names of men; fleeting lovers of a single sexual encounter. "I masturbated up to 18 times a day to self-regulate, and I also had sex whenever I could. I've fucked all of Palma. I only wanted to experience orgasms, not create any bond," she says.

The Balearic Islands are known for their sun, beaches, picture-postcard landscapes, and culture, but for better or worse, hidden (or not) 'love nests' have also gained momentum. Secret spaces where people go to do things they would never do in their dining room or on a friend's couch. There are platforms like My Shelters that collect information about these sites and allow users to rate their privacy, cleanliness, safety, and convenience. It's not just a directory: you can filter by sexual orientation, rating, number of cars that fit at peak traffic, and even the walking distance to the hottest spot.

Lluís Ballester Brague (Galicia, 1960) holds a PhD in Sociology (UAB) and Philosophy (UIB), a degree in Social Work, and a professor of Research Methods at the University of the Balearic Islands. His main lines of research have focused on prevention based on family competence programs, the sociology of youth, and the impact of pornography on childhood and adolescence. It was the Catalan journalist Àngel Casas who coined the term 'cinema ofuncover' to refer to the erotic genre that became popular after Franco's death in 1975.
