The Can Pesquet plot, in Son Sardina, has changed hands while the Palma City Council tries to make effective the promise of the mayor, Jaime Martínez, to turn it into a public space. One year after the first councilor announced that Cort had initiated the process to acquire the 1,600 square meters to build a neighborhood center, a library, a square and consider a parking lot, the plot remains private. Now the consistory assures that it is negotiating with the new owner and that, if no agreement is reached, it will resort to expropriation.

Palma City Council has forgotten its promise to acquire the Can Pesquet site, which has been in the hands of a vulture fund for years, to convert it into a square and a recreational center, according to residents of Son Sardina. In fact, a banner for the real estate company Solvia, part of Banc Sabadell, is now installed on this site. They point out that this fact increases "the discrediting of the policies, both by action and inaction, of the current City Council."
