The Palma City Council will soon expand the regulated parking service (ORA) to nine neighborhoods, bringing significant changes for drivers and residents of these areas. As approved by the service's Monitoring Committee, the new ORA will extend to the neighborhoods of Foners, Pere Garau, Plaza de Toros, Buenos Aires, Camp Redó, Fortí-Serralt, and Santa Catalina Nord. In addition, Son Oliva and Son Fortesa Sud, which were not initially included in the Mobility Plan, will also be incorporated. With this expansion, the number of regulated parking spaces will increase from approximately 12,000 to more than 25,900 throughout the city. At the same time, 166 new parking meters will be installed, bringing the total to 570. This approval is the preliminary step to begin the necessary procedures and construction work. Implementation will be carried out gradually and will include signage, painting of parking spaces, and installation of the equipment. There is still no specific date for the start of operations, but work will begin once the administrative procedures are completed.

MÁS por Palma has called on the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, to specify the city neighborhoods that will be affected by the Catalan government's Land Acquisition Law, which they consider a "urban development coup" and a "gift" to large real estate developers. "Palma cannot be allowed to be a Monopoly game where speculation reigns and families have to survive." The city is for "living," not for "making developers rich," they stated.

This universal message, which "was true 70 years ago, is true now, and will be true 70 years from now," is what the president of the new Soledat neighborhood association, Miquel Coll, wants to convey to the neighborhood's residents. "In the face of this bombardment that tells us 'you can do anything,' something that isn't true individually," says Coll, "we have to work together to move forward." As a first step, they will reach out to the neighborhood's residents to revive the festival of Our Lady of Solitude, which will take place the weekend of September 13 and 14.
