The eight men accused of the gang rape of an 18-year-old woman in Magaluf in August 2023 admitted to the crime and accepted a combined sentence of 72 years and three months in prison. The plea agreement was finalized Monday morning before the trial was scheduled to take place in the Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands. The defendants—seven French nationals and one Swiss national—admitted that on August 14, 2023, they went to a hotel room in Magaluf where one of the victim's companions was staying. They admitted that, aware of the woman's unconscious state, they undressed her, sexually assaulted her, and raped her multiple times.

The National Police have arrested a man in Palma for allegedly abusing and sexually assaulting at least five women, one of whom was a minor at the time of the incidents. The judge has ordered his pretrial detention while the investigation continues. According to the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters, the incidents were investigated by agents of the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM) following initial complaints from two women. One stated that, years earlier, she had been drugged and subsequently sexually assaulted. The second victim explained that she had been in a relationship with the arrested man, during which she suffered continuous psychological abuse. The police investigation led to the identification of three more victims. Two reported waking up on several occasions in the alleged perpetrator's home, naked, bruised, and with no memory of what had happened.

A 23-year-old German man has been arrested by local police after a tourist caught him sitting on the bed and caressing her leg while she slept in a hotel room in Playa de Palma.
