Its opening was as surprising and unexpected as its closure; from one day to the next, the partners decided to abandon the project, and Es Pou Bo, a refuge for activists, marginalized artists, the wounded, and progressives, disappeared.

That 'machine' that for more than a decade unified the rhythm of summer weekends for thousands of young people. Now, after a long season of holes and degradation, three establishments resist with the hope of bringing music and drinks back to the left side of the Riuet.

In just seven years, it became a musical landmark, but complaints from neighbors and fines forced its closure: a venue and a model that died of success.

It opened on May 14, 1993, in a basement in Gomila, and its speakers played ACDC, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, System of Down, Prodigy, Nirvana, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, among others. Its driving force was Ivor Meléndrez, who launched the project with his partner Toni Fuentes. Fuentes explains the venue's concept: "While other bars like Fraguel Rock, with heavy metal, and Nagual, with punk rock, became a bit more radical, we, within the alternative scene, adapted quite a bit." Over the years, Tunnel opened up to other styles like dubstep and K-pop, attracting new generations of young people fed up with radio formulas.

The establishment became an institution, serving coffee, pomades, and beer for no less than 56 years. Casellas Sr. opened it with two other cousins, but soon after, he took over the business. The boom, which began in 1973, would last for more than two decades. The 1980s were the business's heyday.
