The Court of Instruction number 6 of Palma has decided to close the case against former Environment Minister Miquel Mir and members of the former leadership of the Balearic Government's Environment Department for alleged malfeasance related to the systematic expiration of files within the Department. Legal sources explained to ARA Baleares that it was not easy to keep the investigation open despite the complaint filed by the Environmental Prosecutor's Office, "since for malfeasance offenses, the intent must be clearly identified, and in this case, it appears to be primarily systematic negligence." The court closed the case precisely because, based on the statements taken, it cannot be concluded that the files were deliberately allowed to expire.

Last September, it was reported that a hacker had allegedly gained access to the Manacor City Council's computer system and discovered a document containing 160 lawsuits filed against the Council. The leaked documents included the plaintiffs' personal information, as well as details of the legal proceedings. After learning of the incident, Manacor City Council officials filed a complaint regarding the alleged unauthorized access to their computer system and the publication of confidential data. The Local Judicial Police Brigade then began investigating the matter. In recent weeks, the National Police were able to confirm that no hacker had attacked the City Council's computer system. The officers analyzed all the computer access logs for the specific documents containing the published data and ruled out external access via electronic means, thus focusing the investigation on the City Council itself.

In one year, gender-based violence offenses registered in Palma have increased by 13%: 5,402 were documented in 2024 compared to 4,763 in 2023, according to data from the Annual Report on Violence Against Women presented this Friday by the City Council. Last year in the Balearic Islands, 8,752 gender-based violence offenses were registered, 3% more than in 2023. However, up to the second quarter of 2025, 2,159 offenses have been recorded, 12% fewer than the same period last year. Of the 5,402 offenses registered last year in Palma, 68% were for abuse and injuries. 7% were for breach of court orders, and 5% for breach of sentences. Binissalem gave the green light to the second phase of the industrial estate at the plenary session held this Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., amid strong protests from farmers and residents. The offensive announced by Water Resources and the Civil Guard against illegal water extraction from the islands' wells is serious. This year, the Directorate General has already carried out 70 inspections at as many water intakes and opened 62 cases.
