Lourdes Sampol Noguera, a painter and cultural activist strongly linked to Valldemossa, has died, as communicated by the Festival Chopin de Valldemossa Association. Sampol was part of the founding group of the Chopin Festival since 1981 and for decades was in charge of the annual exhibitions of contemporary artists linked to the event.

Renowned pianist Iván Martín will pay tribute to Frédéric Chopin this Saturday, August 23, in the sixth concert of the 2025 Pollença Festival. On this occasion, the Canarian musician, accompanied by the Galdós Ensemble, will perform a single version of the Polish composer's two piano concertos.
