A man in his forties was stabbed on Wednesday in the Son Banya neighborhood of Palma. The attack occurred early that morning, according to initial investigations, during a fight between a drug dealer and a buyer. During the argument, according to police sources, the dealer allegedly stabbed the man in front of the buyer, causing a wound. The victim was treated at the scene and then taken to Son Llàtzer Hospital.

The Civil Guard, Customs Surveillance of the Tax Agency, and the National Police have dismantled a criminal organization based in Ibiza dedicated to large-scale drug trafficking, as part of Operations Cavalieri, Norte, and Coktel. The investigation resulted in 26 arrests and the seizure of 1,558 kilos of cocaine and almost 11 tons of hashish. According to authorities, the network operated using maritime routes between South America, the Iberian Peninsula, and the island of Ibiza, combining multiple entry points for the drugs: trucks traveling by ferry, containers in the port of Valencia, and speedboats arriving directly in Ibiza. The investigation, which began in 2023 with the seizure of 8.3 tons of hashish on a beach in the north of the island, has demonstrated that the organization had a hierarchical and compartmentalized structure, capable of providing logistical support to national and international criminal groups. One of those arrested specialized in the distribution and management of encrypted messaging systems, a key tool for coordinating the organization. The most significant operations of 2025 included the seizure of 2,400 kilos of hashish in the port of Ibiza and over 1,000 kilos of cocaine in Valencia and Ibiza, as well as several arrests in Mallorca and Ibiza as part of operations coordinated with mainland authorities. The operation culminated on December 16 with nine raids and 11 arrests in various municipalities of Ibiza. Currently, 12 people remain at large, and further arrests are expected. The investigation involved the collaboration of various specialized units from Customs Surveillance, the Civil Guard, and the National Police, with support from intervention and security groups, under the supervision of the Court of Instruction Number 3 of Ibiza and the Anti-Drug Prosecutor's Office delegated to the island. According to the Civil Guard, this operation demonstrates the authorities' ability to dismantle complex criminal structures operating in connection with international organizations. It also highlights the importance of coordination between police forces to combat large-scale drug trafficking in the Balearic Islands.

A dozen people admitted this Monday in the Provincial Court to participating in the shipment of cocaine and marijuana from Peru to Mallorca, hidden inside wheelchairs. The defendants accepted sentences ranging from one and a half to five years in prison for various drug trafficking offenses and membership in a criminal organization. The defense reached a plea agreement with the prosecution, which significantly reduced the initially requested sentences, totaling nearly one hundred years in prison. Under this agreement, most of those convicted will not go to prison. Two of them will have to pay fines of €215,000 and €126,000, respectively. The defendants admitted that between April 2023 and July 2024 they were involved in shipping narcotics from several Latin American countries, primarily Peru. They used human couriers, known as drug mules. muleswho transported the drugs hidden inside wheelchairs. Once the shipments arrived in Mallorca, the substances were distributed and sold. As has been proven, each of the accused performed a specific function within the criminal organization, which was headed by a man who has been identified but is currently a fugitive from justice. Some of those convicted acted as intermediaries with other traffickers, while others were in charge of transporting and storing the drugs. During the searches carried out by the National Police at the time of the arrests, various quantities of narcotics with a market value exceeding €344,000 were seized.

The son of Inspector Faustino Nogales, who was provisionally imprisoned for his alleged involvement in a drug trafficking and money laundering organization in Mallorca, has been released on bail after being arrested last Thursday. The young man is being investigated for his possible connection to the network, according to reports. Daily of Mallorca and confirmed sources close to the case. Among those arrested was veteran inspector Faustino Nogales, former head of the National Police's Narcotics Unit in the Balearic Islands, detained by the Internal Affairs Unit for his alleged involvement in the criminal organization.
