ANACA has raised serious concerns about the possible existence of up to seven battery storage system projects in the municipality of Alcúdia, some of which could be located on rural land. The organization is urging the City Council to clarify "without delay" the actual status of these facilities associated with the Peninsula-Balearic Islands electrical interconnection (Penbal 2), after other municipalities such as Santa Maria and Pollença learned of similar projects when they were already well underway.

The Alcudia City Council has filed a complaint with the Civil Guard following the accusations spread by the Anaca platform that has questioned the transparency of the project due to "suspicious coincidences" that have accompanied successive changes in the route of the high-voltage cable in Alcudia (the Penbal 2 project). The City Council points out that these statements "are completely false and lack any foundation, and constitute a direct attack on the honor and image of the municipal corporation."

The Civil Guard has arrested an official from the Alcudia City Council for allegedly registering foreigners, which would constitute a crime of falsification. The arrest took place this past Wednesday morning, according to information from the Armed Forces. This Thursday, he was brought before the Inca Court.

The Association for a New Agreement for the Alcudia Cable Car (ANACA), created in August to reject the latest proposed route, has asked institutions to reopen a participatory process and reconsider the cable car's entry through Alcudia Bay. The organization reiterated its rejection of the approved route after meeting on Wednesday with those responsible for the operation, including Diego Viu, Director General of Circular Economy, Energy Transition, and Climate Change; Fina Linares, Mayor; and Maria Paz Andrade, Director General of Urban Harmonization and Environmental Assessment.
