Palma's cinemas haven't always been promoted with digitally printed posters or illuminated screens. For decades, large hand-painted posters announcing the week's new releases adorned the facades of many theaters. Behind many of those monumental images was the same name: Rafael Ruiz. Now, his work is being brought back to mind with the exhibition Palma, city of cinemaswhich can be seen at the Misericordia cultural center. Among other historical documents, the exhibition includes original material from the poster artist and the documentary The ephemeral dreamDirected by Toni Bestard.

More than 300 musicians from six groups participated this Sunday in the traditional Holy Week band gathering held in the Patio de los Hombres (Men's Courtyard) of the La Misericordia Cultural Center. Hundreds of spectators came throughout the morning to listen to processional marches and repertoires linked to this musical tradition. The day began at 10:30 a.m. with a performance by the Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza y la Paz (Our Lady of Hope and Peace) Musical Group. Also performing were the Santa Mónica Band, the Esencia Musical Group, the Selva Municipal Band, the Ntre. Padre Jesús de la Humildad (Our Father Jesus of Humility) Musical Group, and the Ntre. Padre Jesús del Gran Poder (Our Father Jesus of Great Power) Musical Group. Throughout the morning, the cultural center's courtyard was transformed into a stage dedicated to the music of Holy Week processions, with performances that combined traditional repertoire and pieces commonly used in the processions.

The Association of Art Critics and Curators of the Balearic Islands (ACCAIB), the Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB), and the Consell de Mallorca have presented the first edition of the ACCAIB 2025 Balearic Curatorship Award and the 2025 Critics Award. These awards were created with the aim of "strengthening" and "reinforcing" the Balearic Islands as a whole.
