The works committee of the DomusVi Palma residence has warned of the "unsustainable situation" experienced by the staff during the summer months and has warned that the economic precariousness of the sector makes it difficult to adequately cover the necessary vacancies. According to the workers' representation, made up of CCOO, UGT, and the Front d'Obrers en Lluita (FOL), this situation directly affects the care received by the residents.

The Esporles Town Council has announced that it will be the first municipality to offer a new residential model, with eight supervised living places for seniors. According to Mayor Josep Ferrà, with the opening of these eight supervised living places, Esporles will have, for the first time and after many years of effort, its first residential service in the municipality, within the framework of the 2026-2030 Social and Healthcare Infrastructure Plan. "These first eight places are just the beginning; in the coming years we will continue working to expand the offering and meet the needs of our seniors," said Ferrà. In the coming months, the City Council and the Regional Ministry of Families, Social Welfare, and Dependency Care will work together to define the terms of the future agreement, finalize the proposal for the residential space, and formalize the agreement that will allow the service to begin. The Councilor for Social Services, Maria Roig, stated that "the aim is for it to happen as soon as possible, and, if it depends on the City Council, for it to be a reality this year, 2026, since the facilities are already built."

Binissalem gave the green light to the second phase of the industrial estate at the plenary session held this Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., amid strong protests from farmers and residents. "It will have a brutal impact," denounced Andreu Delacio, one of the residents affected by the estate's expansion. The initiative was approved with the support of the governing team, formed by Unió por Binissalem and the PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), the abstention of the PP, and the dissent of MÁS for Binissalem. A 30-day period will now open for submission of objections, and the initiative must then be submitted to the Island Territorial Commission.
