The board of trustees of the Palma 365 Tourism Foundation – chaired by the Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez – approved its 2026 action plan this Monday. The plan aims to attract more tourists and consolidate markets such as Canada and Abu Dhabi, according to a statement released by the organization, which also emphasizes the need to capitalize on new tourist routes. The Palma City Council (Cort) also intends to strengthen Playa de Palma's position as a leading tourist destination. The Foundation's budget for next year will be €1,529,070, €100,000 more than in 2025. The Foundation's manager, Pedro Homar, highlighted that the organization will maintain a "continuity" approach next year and explained that priorities include tourism initiatives for residents (without specifying any concrete measures), universal accessibility, and the digitalization of the destination. As the Government's Pact for Sustainability enters its second phase, focused on proposals for tourism containment, the Balearic Islands' institutions are once again concentrating their efforts on promoting the islands at one of the sector's most important trade fairs, the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. As every year, the regional government, councils, and municipalities have attended the event in the British capital to highlight the advantages of the Balearic Islands and present them as a cultural destination, a key message of the People's Party since it came to power in 2023.

In his first New Year's speech as president, Francesc Antich spoke of the motto of the new progressive government: "Four islands, one country, no borders." Twenty-five years ago, when "one century was drawing to a close and a new millennium was beginning," he emphasized that "country" appeared "in capital letters." And he explained what exactly "building a country" meant. "These are very concrete things that all the citizens of these islands must share. It means designing reasonable growth that guarantees our present, but, above all, the future of our children. Building a country means relaunching the productive economy, the one that creates stability, and putting a stop to the speculative and unsupportive economy," he began before discussing other aspects. "Above all, it means combining efforts in areas of society that until now had been scattered, even forgotten," he added. The motto also supported a tourism campaign for the Balearic Islands that was meant to function as a whole and, at the same time, allow for the promotion of each of them.

The Mallorca Council has paid for an organized trip for six American journalists—most of whom are Colombian—to promote the island and, according to the island institution, "to publicize the strategy for respect and coexistence." The Council emphasized that these professionals "represent a large group of media outlets with an impact in this specific country [Colombia] and others in the American region."
