Around 2,000 people marched through the streets of Palma this Tuesday in a demonstration organized by the December 31st Platform and other groups belonging to the independentist left, such as Arran and Endavant, to mark Mallorca's National Day. The march began in the Born district and proceeded to Plaça del Tub, where participants read the official manifesto for the day. The protest route, which started in the Born, continued along Carrer de la Unió, La Rambla, Carrer del Baró de Pinopar, and finally crossed the avenues before ending in Plaça del Tub. During the march, banners displayed slogans such as "Much to fight for, everything to gain," "The solution: self-determination," and "We want to govern in our own country; Spain is beyond saving. Independence!"

"We know that in Palma, all the Catalan separatists will be in the same place. We should take advantage of these opportunities..." This is the threatening statement that Vox deputy Jorge Campos posted on his X profile in reference to Mallorca Day on December 31st, sparking controversy. MÁS per Mallorca condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the statements, calling them "irresponsible, dangerous, and unbecoming of a public official," and warned that it will hold Campos directly responsible for "any incident, aggression, or disturbance of public order" that may result. The eco-sovereignist party is not ruling out legal action regarding what it considers to be potentially criminal acts.

The organizations that make up the Independentist Left of Mallorca (EIM) (CUP, Arran, SEPC, Adelante, and Alerta Soliaria) have called for a demonstration on Tuesday, December 30th, at 6:00 PM on the Passeig del Born in Palma to demand that Mallorca Day be celebrated again on December 31st. This was announced by EIM spokespeople Dani Comas and Marta Serrano this Saturday at a press conference on the steps of the Cathedral of Palma (La Seu) to present the events organized to demand that Mallorca Day be celebrated on December 31st.

The president of the Mallorcan Council, Llorenç Galmés, presided over the 2025 Honors and Distinctions presentation ceremony before nearly a thousand attendees. Galmés praised "the spirit of self-improvement of the Mallorcan people" and emphasized that the awardees are "tireless pioneers who have left a living legacy that endures."

Palma has implemented special traffic and public transport measures for the 45th Night Motorcycle Tour of Mallorca and the events of Mallorca Day, which are taking place this weekend. The Local Police and the Palma EMT (Emergency Transportation Service) have reported traffic closures and diversions that will affect both private vehicles and several urban bus lines.
