A 38-year-old motorcyclist died this Saturday in Palma after colliding with a car on Indalecio Prieto Street, in the Son Gotleu neighborhood. According to information from SAMU 061 (the emergency medical service), the accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. and the motorcyclist suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest. An advanced life support ambulance, a logistics vehicle, and a command vehicle were dispatched to the scene and attended to the patient. Despite the efforts of the medical teams, the motorcyclist died at the scene. The accident occurred at number 50 Indalecio Prieto Street when, according to the initial investigation by the Local Police, the car crossed into the oncoming lane to make a left turn and collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old woman, tested negative for alcohol and drugs, according to police. Initial reports suggest the car failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle.

A 27-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident early this morning on the Son Roig road in the Mallorcan municipality of Sencelles. A traffic accident in Coll d'en Rabassa, Palma, has left one vehicle overturned and several people trapped. The Palma Court of Instruction number 10, acting as duty court, has agreed this Monday to the provisional imprisonment without bail for the driver involved in the fatal accident last weekend in Son Castelló, in which a 27-year-old motorcyclist died.
