The Government, through the Ministry of Business, Self-Employed and Energy, has resolved to deny the continuation of procedures and prior administrative authorization for the Alten Mallorca III photovoltaic park projects, located in the municipality of Maria de la Salut, and Alten Mallorca IV, located in Ariany. Both projects, known for the Montblanc estates in Maria and Son Boscà in Ariany, planned the installation of two recognized power plants with corresponding energy evacuation lines on rural land.

The graphic history of Maria de la Salut is about to experience a before and after. Joan Carbonell Estelrich, Menescalet, has donated his personal photographic archive to the City Council. A judge has remanded a 59-year-old man in custody after he was arrested by the Civil Guard on March 18 in Maria de la Salut, accused of abusing and controlling his wife and three minor children. According to police sources on Wednesday, a social worker from the Maria de la Salut Town Hall alerted them on March 18 that a woman she was assisting was suffering serious abuse at the hands of her husband. The municipal worker explained that the abuse was not only directed at the wife, but that the three minor children were also victims. Following this report, and after taking a statement from the victim, a Civil Guard patrol, accompanied by the Local Police, went to the family home that same afternoon and arrested the 59-year-old man. The Civil Guard arrested him on charges of domestic abuse, and he was subsequently remanded in custody after appearing before a judge. Social services took charge of the mother and children, who have been transferred to a shelter.

The housing crisis in Mallorca continues to produce listings that highlight the extent to which rental prices have skyrocketed. An ad on the real estate portal Idealista offers a brand-new "studio cabin" in "the heart of nature" for almost 700 euros a month, an offer that illustrates the pressure of the real estate market, even outside major urban centers.

The courtyard of the former doll school—which, in fact, was originally a boys' school, as men were given priority in education at the time—is today the Maria Cultural Center. This building, inaugurated in September 1928, was part of the educational center designed by one of the most prominent architects in our recent history: Guillem Forteza Pinya. Forteza designed more than one hundred school buildings in Mallorca.
