Can Morató, the old mat factory located in Pollença, is being transformed after decades of abandonment. Colonya Caixa Pollença will move its central services there and set up cultural spaces. The work must also resolve how to preserve a factory that had reached a state of ruin. The façade will recover its original configuration and, inside, the warehouses and the remains of the facilities will allow for explaining how wool was converted into carpets and how the people who made them worked there.

This summer, Miquel Vanrell, the owner of the Son Carbó dairy farm (Campos) – the largest in Mallorca with 300 cows per milking – invested almost two million euros in milking machines and a cow shed, with subsidies covering nearly 700,000. However, Agama (which is its only client) has announced that it will stop buying milk in Mallorca next year because "sales have fallen significantly," as Vanrell explained to ARA Baleares.
